RUSSIAN AUTO LADAS “VESTA” WILL ARRIVE TO CUBA SOON. (PHOTOS).
The Russian automobile production company AvtoVAZ will supply its new car Lada ‘Vesta’ to Cuba, and already signed the agreement with the Cuban government.
For now it has been announced that Russian cars will serve as taxis on the island. The question about the sale of this model to natural persons is now open, Russian media report.
The new Russian cars return to Cuba to face the almost forgotten legacy of the former Soviet Union.
Also, for now there is no information on the specifications of the cars that will be supplied to Cuba.
Cuban buyers already submitted their requirements for the Russian sedans and also signed another contract for the supply of parts for the Lada Vesta.
For Latin Americans, the Lada are one of the icons of Soviet industry closest to their reality. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, South American countries imported thousands of cars produced in the Russian city of Tolyatti from the then Soviet Union.
Little by little, the Lada that filled the streets of Latin America a couple of decades ago, are disappearing. The brand did not maintain its presence: by the renovation of the automotive seat, the old cars have become objects of collection. In Cuba, however, they are still among the most popular cars.
Cuba has not had any new car model for many years since the country had imposed restrictions on the purchase and sale of means of transport.

La empresa productora rusa de automóviles AvtoVAZ suministrará su novedoso carro Lada Vesta a Cuba, y ya firmó el acuerdo con el Gobierno cubano.
Por el momento ya se dio a conocer que los automóviles rusos servirán como taxis en la isla. La cuestión sobre la venta de este modelo a las personas físicas por ahora queda abierta, informan medios rusos.
Los nuevos coches rusos vuelven a Cuba para enfrentar al legado casi olvidado de la antigua Union soviética.
Además, por ahora no hay información sobre las especificaciones de los carros que serán suministrados a Cuba.
Los compradores cubanos ya enviaron sus requisitos para los sedanes rusos y también firmaron otro contrato acerca de los suministros de las piezas para los Lada Vesta.
Para los latinoamericanos, los Lada son uno de los íconos de la industria soviética más cercanos a su realidad. A finales de los 80 e inicios de los 90, los países suramericanos importaron desde la entonces Unión Soviética miles de coches producidos en la ciudad rusa de Tolyatti.
De a poco, los Lada que llenaron las calles latinoamericanas hace un par de décadas, van desapareciendo. La marca no mantuvo su presencia: por la renovación de la plaza automotriz, los viejos autos se han vuelto objetos de colección. En Cuba, sin embargo, siguen estando entre los automotores más populares.
Cuba desde hace muchos años no ha tenido ningún modelo novedoso de automóvil puesto que el país había impuesto restricciones a la compra-venta de medios de transporte.
