In beautiful Paris, a Cuban made history: Guillermo Pérez Dressler, born in Guanabacoa in 1860. Poor but with great talent for drawing, he obtained a scholarship to study at the University of the French capital, graduating with honors at age 21 .
His teacher, knowledgeable of his intelligence, presented to Gustavo Eiffel, who needed an assistant to build his famous tower. The Cuban became his right hand. One of the secrets of Eiffel was that he suffered vertigo, and only dared to ascend to the first floor, in order that everything that was built above that level was in charge of the guidance and supervision of the young Guanabacoense.

On the day of the inauguration of the tower, and to hide his fear of heights, Effiel began to converse at the base with several dignitaries present, while the Cuban Dressler was who guided the rest of the visitors and the international press to the summit of the monument.
The Tower and Effiel have remained at the height of fame, but with the passage of time was eclipsing the decisive contribution of the young Cuban.

La Torre de Eiffel, símbolo de París, es lugar de visita obligada en Francia y lo más importante retratarse junto ella, así podrá demostrar a todos que visitó la llamada Ciudad Luz.
En la hermosa París, un cubano hizo historia: Guillermo Pérez Dressler, nacido en Guanabacoa en 1860. Pobre, pero con gran talento para el dibujo, logró un beca para estudiar en la Universidad de la capital francesa, graduándose con honores a los 21 años.
Su profesor, conocedor de su inteligencia, le presento a Gustavo Eiffel, que necesitaba un asistente para la edificación de su famosa torre. El cubano se convirtió en su mano derecha. Uno de los secretos de Eiffel era que padecía vértigo, y solo se atrevía a ascender hasta al primer piso, en fin que todo lo que se edificó por encima de ese nivel estuvo a cargo de la orientación y supervisión del joven guanabacoense.
El día de la inauguración de la torre, y para disimular su miedo a las alturas, Effiel se puso a conversar en la base con varios dignatarios presentes, mientras el cubano Dressler fue quien guió al resto de los visitantes y a la prensa internacional hasta la cumbre del monumento.
La Torre y Effiel se han mantenido en la cumbre de la fama, pero con el transcurso del tiempo se fue eclipsando el decisivo aporte del joven cubano.
