Jorge Rubén Cortada Soto is a Cuban Actor and Model born in la Isla de la Juventud (Isla de Pinos), on 6 October 1984.
He graduated of High School levels in the Vocational School Vladimir Ilich Lenin, popularly known as ‘La Lenin’. Later, in 2003 he signs up for Automatic Engineering at the University Cujae, although he did not finish his studies in the Technical High School José Antonio Echeverría in La Habana.He started his international career as Model.
This well-known Cuban actor returns to the small Spanish screen this autumn, in the Cadena de TV Telecinco who received him upon arrival in Spain with the performance of El Principe.
Cortada, also participated in the comedy ‘Olmos and Robles’ and in the film for the television ‘What they hid their eyes’.
But in this opportunity the magnificent and well-planted actor (Measures 190 cm high) returns to the small screens in the cast of the family comedy ‘She is your father’ where the Cuban will play Tomy Roales, a rocker “tarambana”, as he himself defines it in declarations to Cinema 54, that “takes refuge in the women, in the alcohol, in the music and its dream is to return to resume the best stage of its band”.

Se graduó de la escuela secundaria en la Escuela Vocacional Vladimir Ilich Lenin, popularmente conocido como ‘La Lenin’. Posteriormente, en 2003 se inscribe en Ingeniería Automática en la Universidad de Cujae, aunque no terminó sus estudios en el Colegio Técnico José Antonio Echeverría en La Habana. Comenzó su carrera internacional como Modelo.
Este conocido actor cubano regresa a la pequeña pantalla española este otoño, en la Cadena de TV Telecinco quien lo recibió a su llegada a España con la interpretacion de El Principe.
Cortada, también participó en la comedia ‘Olmos y Robles’ y en la película para la televisión ‘Lo que escondían sus ojos’.
Pero en esta oportuidad el magnifico y bien plantado actor (Mide 190 cm de alto) regresa a las pantallas chicas en el reparto de la comedia familiar ‘Ella es tu padre’ donde el cubano interpretará a Tomy Roales, un rockero “tarambana”, como él mismo lo define en declaraciones a Cine 54, que “se refugia en las mujeres, en el alcohol, en la música y su sueño es volver a retomar la mejor etapa de su banda”.
Para el actor, que ha hecho de ministro franquista, de Guardia Civil o de narcotraficante durante su carrera en España, su papel clave ha sido el de Faruq un famoso narcotraficante de el Principe.
Y nos dice “No nos engañemos. Sin Faruq no hubiese habido nada. A lo mejor hubiese aparecido, pero como secundario. Y ya después Olmos y Robles me pone a trabajar ya de mano derecha del protagonista. Me encanta la comedia, además me lo paso muy bien”, señaló.
Para Cortada, “hacer de galán es de lo más difícil” y le “preocupa perder su privacidad en la Isla”, donde no suele seguirse su carrera,
según consideró.
Fuera de España, el actor cubano participó recientemente en la serie para la televisión argentina Supermax, un thriller psicológico estrenado a principios de abril y en el que compartió roles protagónicos con Cecilia Roth y el español Santiago Segura, entre otros.
