The General Customs Office of the Republic (AGR) of Cuba publishes this Friday a note on how to “expedite” the departure of the island’s airports.
The institution proposes travelers to use the so-called “green channel”, valid for those who only “import their personal items” and their luggage does not exceed 30kg.
Tourists who adjust their import to the facilities provided in the Convention of Customs Facilities for Tourism may also use the aforementioned “channel”.
The provision of the AGR will operate in “the international airports and ports of the country,” the statement said.
Cuban authorities maintain strict control over what travelers bring to the island, even if they are not illegal substances.
Cubans can only import a certain amount of products a year, even though the State is not able to overcome the shortage that prevails in its commercial network, the only one authorized to sell basic necessities.
In the Cuban airports the process of customs control is usually extremely slow. Those who exceed the amount of allowable baggage have to pay high taxes to enter the products into the country.

If you only import your personal belongings and do not exceed 30 kg in your luggage, or it is from the Green Channel and you can quickly leave the customs hall in the international airports and ports of the country.
If you make any kind of non-commercial import or violate any customs provision, you will be subject to customs action and delay your departure, depending on the aspects that need to be assessed, the payment of fees to be made or other administrative actions or measures.

INFORMA LA ADUANA CUBANA SOBRE LOS VIAJEROS A LA ISLA.
La Aduana General de la República (AGR) de Cuba publica este viernes una nota donde informa sobre cómo “agilizar” la salida de los aeropuertos de la isla.
La institución propone a los viajeros utilizar el llamado “canal verde”, válido para aquellos que solamente “importen sus objetos personales” y sus equipajes no superen los 30kg.
Los turistas que ajustan su importación a las facilidades previstas en la Convención de Facilidades Aduaneras para el Turismo también podrán utilizar el mencionado “canal”.
La disposición de la AGR funcionará en “los aeropuertos internacionales y puertos del país”, señala el comunicado.
Las autoridades cubanas mantienen un estricto control sobre lo que los viajeros llevan a la isla, aunque no se trate de sustancias ilegales.
Los cubanos solamente pueden importar cierta cantidad de productos al año pese a que el Estado no es capaz de superar la escasez que impera en su red comercial, la única autorizada para vender artículos de primera necesidad.
En los aeropuertos cubanos suele ser extremadamente lento el proceso de control aduanal. Quienes se excedan en la cantidad de equipaje permitida tienen que pagar elevados impuestos para entrar los productos al país.
A continuación, la información de la AGR:
Si usted sólo importa sus objetos personales y no supera en sus equipajes los 30 kgs, o es del Canal Verde y puede salir con rapidez del salón de aduanas en los aeropuertos internacionales y puertos del país.
Si realiza algún tipo de importación no comercial o infringe alguna disposición aduanera estará sujeto a la actuación de aduana y retrasará su salida, en dependencia de los aspectos que se requieran evaluar, el pago de aranceles a realizar u otras acciones o medidas administrativas.
La aduana prioriza realizar sus actuaciones con agilidad, pero de acuerdo al hecho a evaluar, requiere de tiempo.
