CHINA REDUCES ITS SALES TO CUBA BY 30% .
Chinese exports to Cuba “collapsed” in 2017 due to the island’s inability to pay, according to Reuters on Monday. For the agency, this is “a new sign of deterioration” in the Cuban economy that began in 2015 with the crisis in Venezuela, an ideological ally of the Island’s Government and its main trading partner.
According to the official figures of the Asian government, Cuban imports from China fell by 29.8%, representing a decrease of 1 billion dollars between January and October compared to the same period of the previous year.
ETECSA STARTS ITS SMS SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES TODAY.
The state telecommunications company of Cuba, Etecsa, allows this Friday the sending of text messages (SMS) to the United States through Cuban mobile phones, according to a note issued by the monopoly.
The price of the message is 0.60 cents of CUC, similar to what it charges for SMS sent to other countries. The tariffs for the calls to the foreigner as well as the sending of text messages are one of the main complaints of the users of the Cuban mobile network for their high prices.
Many Cubans used mobile applications such as Cuballama and CubaMessenger to communicate with their relatives in the US in the absence of a direct messaging service. Etecsa has denounced “fraud” to several companies that offer calls and messaging to and from Cuba at a lower price.
According to the state monopoly, in order to send an SMS from Cuba to the United States, the user must precede the use of the + sign and the United States code, followed by the local code. For example, a call to Miami would be +1 305 XXX XXXX.
Havana Southern Baptist Church
The Baptist Church, through the pastor and coordinator of the Patmos Institute, Mario Félix Lleonart, has denounced the occupation of one of its buildings since last July by individuals acting in a personal capacity. This is the Office of the Board of Missions of the Association of Baptist Convention of Western Cuba, located in the Vedado habanero.
The Church denounces that the authorities are not fulfilling their obligation to restore property to their legitimate owners and requests the intervention of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the support of the US Government. The claim has its origin in that the building belonged to the Home Mission Board of the SBC until in 1967, to avoid a potential confiscation for being American property, the property was transferred to the Association Convention Baptist of Western Cuba.

Según las cifras oficiales del Gobierno asiático, las importaciones cubanas procedentes de China cayeron un 29,8%, lo que supone un descenso de 1.000 millones de dólares entre enero y octubre con respecto al mismo periodo del año anterior.
ETECSA ESTRENA HOY SU SERVICIO DE SMS A ESTADOS UNIDOS.
La empresa estatal de telecomunicaciones de Cuba, Etecsa, permite a partir de este viernes el envío de mensajes de texto (SMS) a Estados Unidos a través de teléfonos móviles cubanos, según una nota emitida por el monopolio.
El precio del mensaje es de 0,60 centavos de CUC, similar a lo que cobra por SMS dirigidos a otros países. Las tarifas por las llamadas al extranjero así como el envío de mensajes de texto son unas de las principales quejas de los usuarios de la red móvil cubana por sus elevados precios.
Muchos cubanos utilizaban aplicaciones móviles como Cuballama y CubaMessenger para comunicarse con sus familiares en EE UU ante la ausencia de un servicio directo de mensajería. Etecsa ha denunciado por “fraude” a varias compañías que ofrecen llamadas y mensajería hacia y desde Cuba a un menor precio.
Según el monopolio estatal, para el envío de un SMS desde Cuba a Estados Unidos el usuario deberá anteponer el uso del signo + y el código de Estados Unidos, seguido del código de la localidad. Por ejemplo, una llamada a Miami sería +1 305 XXX XXXX.
LA IGLESIA BAUTISTA DENUNCIA LA OCUPACIÓN DE UNO DE SUS EDIFICIOS EN LA HABANA.
La Iglesia Bautista, a través del pastor y coordinador del Instituto Patmos, Mario Félix Lleonart, ha denunciado la ocupación de uno de sus edificios desde el pasado mes de julio por individuos actuando a título personal. Se trata de la Oficina de la Junta de Misiones de la Asociación Convención Bautista de Cuba Occidental, ubicada en el Vedado habanero.
La Iglesia denuncia que las autoridades no están cumpliendo con su obligación de restablecer la propiedad a sus legítimos dueños y pide la intervención de la Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) y el respaldo del Gobierno de EE UU. La reclamación tiene su origen en que el edificio pertenecía a la Home Mission Board de la SBC hasta que en 1967, para evitar una potencial confiscación por ser propiedad americana, se traspasó el inmueble a la Asociación Convención Bautista de Cuba Occidental.
