Blanca Rosa Gil, was born on August 26, 1937 in Perico, Matanzas and even being a girl they took her to Venezuela in the company of a family of great economic resources that had close relations with the artistic world, or interests with this medium. He also lived in Mexico.

Blanca Rosa Gil, born in Cuba has lived for years in the beautiful country that is Puerto Rico, she was one of the most successful Latin American singers during the 1960 and 1970, backed by the Velvet label.

In 1966 he recorded the bolero “Hunger”, the Mexican Rosendo Alvarez Montiel, who spent more than a year in the ranks of popularity, meaning the maximum hit of his career and the song that symbolized for ever since it became a real collection piece, played in a unique, special and with an extraordinary feeling, being that so far no one has dared to even make an attempt to sing that song in a manner similar to the great imparted to Blanca Rosa Gil and customized with a sharp dressing sense and a dose of spirituality.

It has been speculated that the also called “The doll who sings” began its foray into the art scene in the company of her sisters Rita and Mercedes, with whom he made the first steps of its successful first careers at an early age. Born in Cuba, perhaps close to the year 1937 and we were still a little girl took her to Venezuela in the company of a family of great economic resources that had close ties to the art world, or interest in this medium.

This is how on one occasion, when she was in a child cutting event, someone falls in love sing and hear what their musical notes produced, so try to make arrangements with those who represented it as such was less than age, necessarily required the consent of their representatives for any kind of agreement that would involve.

Once buttoned such arrangements is hired to work in a children’s program called “Smoke and Fantasy”, dedicated to promoting artists with novel natural conditions for acting, singing or the ease in public. Things in life do not necessarily follow a logical course, but often contrasts become unimaginable.

They all ask the question as being the cradle of Cuba music in general, the mecca where all the singers that time had to pass their skills tests, as this great lady of the song is discovered in Caracas, a native of the once called Pearl Caribbean, and is hired to come and sing just to Havana, Cuba, at the tender age of about 18 years.

So practically begins the artistic life of the great Blanca Rosa Gil, who to begin work so popular is that is required by large cabaret, radio and the emerging television, where his shows are a great success, making his fame transcends and starts, not only to rub shoulders with the best Cuban artists, but quoted as one of the best singers in the industry.

Blanca Rosa Gil almost becomes a nomadic artist, since he was born in Cuba, took up residence for several years in Caracas, Venezuela, also lived in Mexico, he settled for almost nine years in Miami, USA, and finally chose as his permanent residence the beautiful island of Borinquen, where he remained for over 40 years.

By 1980 moved away from the stage after embracing the “Christian faith”. Banca Rosa Gil has focused on Christian religious singing in recent years, and still sings in evangelical churches. The music of Gil’s Bolero has experienced a resurgence in recent years due to the reissue of their albums of CDs and MP3, and occasionally returns to the stage to interpret their classic songs of the Cuban bolero. In 2013, Gil appeared live at a concert at the Miami-Dade Auditorium in Miami, Florida.
