The Cuban military (GAESA) opened a new five-star hotel, the Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo, in Ciego de Ávila, according to the official website Cubadebate. The installation has already begun to provide services with 425 rooms on the beachfront.
The new hotel belongs to Gaviota, which is part of the powerful Business Administration Group S.A. (GAESA), in the hands of the military and led by a former Raúl Castro, General Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Callejas.
GAESA, emporio of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) controls 60% of the Cuban economy. This firm has, among other businesses, the Gaviota group, one of the main tourist emporiums in Cuba, as well as import and export divisions, the chain of Foreign Currency Collection Stores (TRD), real estate, construction companies and port services companies.
Still the housing damage on the island left by Hurricane Irma last September has not been solved. The Tourism sector, also affected by this meteor, is fully recovered and prioritized by the Government.
Only in Havana, with just over 2,100,000 inhabitants, there is a deficit of 206,000 homes, followed by Santiago de Cuba with 103,000, in a country with a total population of 11,200,000. The situation of the housing of the population and the state of the buildings in the country is worrisome according to all the data provided by the national and international press.

Los militares cubanos abrieron un nuevo hotel cinco estrellas, el Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo, en Ciego de Ávila, según dio a conocer este domingo la web oficial Cubadebate.La instalación ya comenzó a prestar servicios con 425 habitaciones en primera línea de playa.
El nuevo hotel pertecenece a Gaviota que forma parte del poderoso Grupo de Administración Empresarial S.A. (GAESA), en manos de los militares y dirigido por un exyerno de Raúl Castro, el general Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Callejas.

Esa firma posee, entre otros negocios, el grupo Gaviota, uno de los principales emporios turísticos de Cuba, además de divisiones de importaciones y exportaciones, la cadena de Tiendas de Recaudación de Divisas (TRD) Caribe, inmobiliarias, constructoras y empresas de servicios portuarios.
Todavía el destrozo habitacional en la Isla dejado por el huracán Irma el pasado septiembre no se ha solucionado. El sector del Turismo, también afectado por este meteoro, se encuentra totalmente recuperado y fue priorizado por el Gobierno.

La situación de la vivienda de la poblacion y el estado de las edificaciones en el país es preocupante segun todos los datos aportados por la prensa nacional e internacional.
