The Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero offered on Sunday a concert full of nostalgia that started with the theme We are sweethearts, with which he thrilled the thousands of attendees who gathered in front of the emblematic Malecón Avenue in Havana.

As reported by EFE, the artist thanked those who made it possible to stay on the island. “Thanks to everyone who put a grain of sand so that my colleagues and I could have the privilege of being in this blessed land that is Cuba”, he assured.

Then he sat down at the piano to play the song ‘I’m going to turn off the light’, which was preceded by the song ‘This afternoon I saw rain’.

The presence of Cuban on stage was initiated by Elíades Ochoa, who was part of the Buena Vista Social Club project, with which Manzanero joined his voice to sing El Ciego.

A repertoire that was completed by Cuban singers Haila María Mopié, with whom she performed the song No existe limits; and Omara Portuondo, who appeared almost at the end of the show to contribute his voice to the Adoro theme.

The citizens of the island were able to follow the concert through one of the channels of state television.

The 82-year-old composer also delighted the audience after sharing a performance with the Mexican singer Aramza, who even detailed how he met him. In particular, their musical union began with the theme Dime, which was chosen for the telenovela Mirada de mujer.

“Yo Soy Maya” said the music producer before explaining that European blood was also flowing through his veins.

The artist, who is currently immersed in the promotion of the album I have permission, has a laureate career that includes a Latin Grammy and a Musical Excellence Award.

The current Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, was present at his concert in Havana, who was already present at the show that starred Gente de Zona with the Italian Laura Pausini.

El cantautor mexicano Armando Manzanero ofreció el domingo un concierto repleto de nostalgia que arrancó con el tema Somos novios, con el que emocionó a los miles de asistentes que se dieron cita frente a la emblemática avenida Malecón de La Habana.

Según reportó EFE, el artista agradeció a los que hicieron posible su estancia en la Isla. “Gracias a todo aquel que puso un granito de arena para que mis compañeros y yo pudiéramos tener el privilegio de estar en esta bendita tierra que es Cuba”, aseguró.

A continuación se sentó al piano para interpretar la canción Voy a apagar la luz, que estuvo precedido por el tema Esta tarde vi llover.

La presencia de cubanía en el escenario la inició Elíades Ochoa, quien integrara el proyecto Buena Vista Social Club, con el que Manzanero unió su voz para cantar El Ciego.

Un repertorio que completaron las cantantes cubanas Haila María Mopié, con quién interpretó la canción No existen límites; y Omara Portuondo , quien apareció prácticamente al final del espectáculo para aportar su voz al tema Adoro.

Los ciudadanos de la Isla pudieron seguir el concierto a través de uno de los canales de la televisión estatal.

El compositor de 82 años también deleitó a los presentes tras compartir actuación con la cantante mexicana Aramza, que incluso detalló cómo lo conoció. En concreto su unión musical se inició con el tema Dime, que fue elegido para la telenovela Mirada de mujer.

El artista, que en la actualidad se encuentra inmerso en la promoción del álbum Tengo permiso, atesora un laureada trayectoria que incluye un Grammy Latino y un Premio a la Excelencia Musical.

A su concierto en La Habana asistió el actual presidente cubano Miguel Díaz-Canel, quien ya estuvo presente en el show que protagonizó Gente de Zona junto a la italiana Laura Pausini.
