Camila Cabello is touring Mexico with her album, entitled ‘Camila’, where she seeks to convey her experiences, emotions and a clear image of what a woman born in Cuba is like and who lived in Mexico until she was seven, and then migrated with his parents to the United States.

“With these songs I have overcome some situations, when I have been happy, my vision of life, I even changed the name of the album, I wanted to capture my essence, my love for people, when I fell in love, my situation with Fifth Harmony and how I lived when producing this album in Los Angeles, “she told the New York Times in an interview with the new album.

“I wanted it to be a representation of who I am, of my childhood in Cuba.Many did not know this when I was in the group.This song was an awakening for me, because I grew up in that environment, I wanted people to know how important it is to my life now, “he explained.

With this theme, the Cuban has exceeded 1.300 million views on YouTube, positioning her debut album as the first of a solo artist in history to head the iTunes lists in more than 100 countries.

The singer also heads the lists with another theme, “Real Friends”, in which she expresses her desire to find true friends. For a while it was speculated that the lyrics were inspired by her relationship with her former band, but the artist clarified that she comes from a stay in Los Angeles while recording her new album.

“It’s not for the girls (Fifth Harmony).” When I was in Latin America, I felt alone, immersed in so much music industry, I just went to the studio and slept, I felt that the world was not connected and I was losing the desire, “she said.

One of the great unknowns is in what conditions the group left. “It was not possible to do things as a soloist and be in the group at the same time, I saw people exploit their songs and being free, I wanted to do the same, I dared and it worked.”

“Con estas canciones he superado algunas situaciones, cuando he estado feliz, mi visión de la vida, incluso cambié el nombre del disco, quería que capturara mi esencia; mi amor a la gente, cuando me enamoraba, mi situación con Fifth Harmony y como vivía al producir este disco en Los Ángeles”, contó la cantante en una entrevista con The New York Times en la presentación del nuevo álbum.

“Quería que fuera una representación de quien soy, de mi infancia en Cuba. Muchos no sabía esto cuando estaba en el grupo. Esta canción fue un despertar para mí, porque crecí en ese entorno, quería que la gente supiera lo importante que es para mi vida actualmente”, explicó.

Con este tema, la cubana ha superado 1.300 millones de reproducciones en YouTube, posicionando a su disco debut como el primero de un artista solista en la historia en encabezar las listas de iTunes en más de 100 países.

La cantante además encabeza las listas con otro tema, “Real Friends”, en la que expresa su deseo de encontrar amigos verdaderos. Por un tiempo se especuló que la letra estaba inspirada en su relación con su antigua agrupación, pero la artista aclaró que proviene de estadía en Los Ángeles mientras grababa su nuevo disco.

“No es por las chicas (Fifth Harmony). Cuando estaba en Latinoamérica me sentía sola, inmersa en tanta industria musical, sólo iba al estudio y dormía. Sentía que el mundo no estaba conectado y empezaba a perder las ganas”, expresó.

Una de las grandes incógnitas es en qué condiciones dejó la agrupación. “No era posible hacer cosas como solista y estar en el grupo al mismo tiempo. Veía a gente explotar sus canciones y siendo libre. Quería hacer lo mismo, me atreví y funcionó”.

La gira que la lleva a México lleva por título ‘Never be the same’.
