This Wednesday, the Spanish airline Iberia announced through a statement that in April 2019 will enable the Premium Tourist class on its trips to Havana. The note highlights that since the summer of 2019, the routes between Havana and Madrid will be made with A330-300 aircraft, which have 29 seats in Business class, 21 in Premium Tourist class and 242 in Economy class. In total, the Spanish airline will have four thousand additional seats on that route to reach 124,584 seats next year.

The Premium Tourist class is designed for customers who usually fly in Economy class, but who are willing to pay a little more in order to travel more comfortably, and to have additional services both on board and on land. Among the advantages, with the Premium Economy class, travelers have exclusive access to the Tourist check-in counters and a priority boarding and disembarkation. To this is added the possibility of making an advance reservation of seats and billing of up to two pieces of luggage free of charge. In the seats of Premium Tourist there is a greater separation between the rows, since it goes from 78.7 centimeters of Tourist class, to 94 centimeters in Premium Tourist. To this it is added that the seats are wider, 48 centimeters in Premium Tourist versus 43 in Tourist. Other advantages are referred to an increase in seating reclining capacity, and 12-inch full HD image screens.

More than 70% of passengers traveling with Iberia between Madrid and Havana are connecting travelers from or to other cities, including London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt (within Europe); o Barcelona, ​​Bilbao, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Valencia (in the rest of Spain).

Iberia incorporated the Premium Economy class in 37 aircraft of its fleet at the end of 2016. Travelers to South American destinations that already have the Premium Tourist service argue that it is possible to find prices below one thousand euros. The airline has not provided information on the price range in which the Premium Economy class will move between Madrid and Havana.

Este miércoles, la aerolínea española Iberia dio a conocer a través de un comunicado que en abril de 2019 habilitará la clase Turista Premium en sus viajes a La Habana. La nota destaca que desde el verano de 2019, los trayectos entre La Habana y Madrid se realizarán con aviones A330-300, que cuentan con 29 asientos en clase Business, 21 en clase Turista Premium y 242 en clase Turista. En total, la aerolínea española dispondrá de cuatro mil plazas adicionales en esa ruta hasta alcanzar los 124.584 asientos el próximo año.

La clase Turista Premium está concebida para clientes que habitualmente vuelan en clase Turista, pero que están dispuestos a pagar un poco más con el fin de viajar con más comodidad, y de disponer de servicios adicionales tanto a bordo como en tierra. Entre las ventajas, con la clase Turista Premium los viajeros tienen un acceso exclusivo a los mostradores de facturación de Turista y un embarque y desembarque prioritario. A ello se suma la posibilidad de poder realizar una reserva anticipada de asiento y la facturación de hasta dos piezas de equipaje de forma gratuita. En los asientos de Turista Premium hay mayor separación entre las filas, pues pasa de los 78.7 centímetros de la clase Turista, a 94 centímetros en Turista Premium. A ello se suma que los asientos son más anchos, 48 centímetros en Turista Premium frente a 43 en Turista. Otras ventajas están referidas a un incremento en la capacidad de reclinación de los asientos, y pantallas de imagen full HD de 12 pulgadas.
