Cientos de indocumentados que llegan a EEUU a través de la frontera con México serán enviados cada mes al sur de Florida para “aliviar” la situación en esa región, informaron este jueves funcionarios locales, que calificaron de “irresponsable” esta “política” del gobierno federal.

El alcalde del Condado de Broward, Mark Bogen, criticó que serán “cientos de inmigrantes (…) sin refugios designados ni fondos para albergarlos, alimentarlos y mantenerlos seguros”.

Bogen manifestó que “esta afluencia repentina” es “irresponsable” e “inhumana” y sugirió que para aquellos que el condado no encuentre albergue llevarlos a los hoteles propiedad del presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump.

“Pidamos al presidente que abra su corazón y su hogar también”, manifestó.

“No es un buen plan”, dijo por su parte el alguacil del Condado de Palm Beach, Ric Bradshaw, quien manifestó en rueda de prensa este jueves que la Patrulla Fronteriza les informó de la idea.

El alguacil señaló que tiene muchos interrogantes sobre la implementación de esta política, por ejemplo si se tratan de niños o familias, si tendrán información de su récord criminal, en caso que lo tengan, y le preocupa que pueda representar un “problema de seguridad pública” para las comunidades locales.

Por su parte, el senador Marco Rubio dijo en su cuenta de Twitter que se trata de al menos 500 inmigrantes que llegarán a partir de la próxima semana a los condados de Broward y Palm Beach, al norte de Miami.

El senador republicano por Florida precisó que tuvo conocimiento del tema a través de autoridades locales, quienes le dijeron que los indocumentados serán “liberados” en la región mientras acuden a una audiencia de asilo en las cortes de inmigración.

“La llegada indocumentados está abrumando nuestro sistema”, expresó Rubio.
