La actriz cubana Ana de Armas atraviesa una etapa inmejorable en el terreno laboral, ya que ha conseguido hacerse un hueco en Hollywood y su nombre es uno de los favoritos de cineastas, crítica y público. Sin embargo, la actriz confesó que lograr el sueño americano no ha sido un camino de rosas.

En entrevista con C magazine, recordó que su mudanza a Los Ángeles hace cinco años se produjo por una “corazonada”.

Convencida de que podría triunfar, cogió las maletas y se instaló allí, a pesar de que apenas sabía hablar inglés, algo que dificultaba enormemente las reuniones con sus agentes y con los directores de casting.

“En la primera prueba me dijo el director de reparto que hablaríamos en un par de años, cuando hablara mejor inglés, y yo le dije que no, que hablábamos en dos meses. Él se rió y me dijo que estaba loca, que no podía hacerlo”, recordó.

A pesar de que tiene miles de seguidores Ana de Armas aseguró que su punto fuerte no son las redes ni tampoco las entrevistas, sino el trabajo.

“Soy buena en el set. Estoy bien cuando estoy trabajando, ahí es cuando me siento más feliz, cuando estudio y me preparo”, reconoció.

Pese a su meteórica trayectoria, la actriz sigue teniendo metas y sueños.

Ana de Armas ha mantenido su presencia en proyectos relevantes. Recién interpretó a Marilyn Monroe en una nueva película de Netflix y fue la nueva chica Bond en No time to die, vigesimoquinta entrega de la saga del espía James Bond, que se estrena en 2020. Protagonizará además el remake de Joint Security Area, de Park Chan-wook, entre otros títulos.

También ha participado en el lanzamiento internacional de Red Avispa (Wasp Network), al lado de Penélope Cruz, Edgar Ramírez, Pedro Pascal y Gael García Bernal, entre otros, que participan en una controversial película sobre los cinco espías cubanos condenados en EEUU.
