Las nuevas tiendas recaudatorias de divisas extranjeras en Cuba están alistándose para su apertura oficial, prevista para para finales de octubre en todo el país.

Imágenes compartidas por el periodista oficialista, Boris Fuentes, muestran motocicletas eléctricas, televisores, lavadoras y otros electrodomésticos que están siendo colocados en las tiendas de cara a su inminente comercialización.

El gobierno cubano divulgó el 16 de octubre el listado de precios de mercancías y explicó el funcionamiento de los establecimientos, donde se podrá comprar solo con divisas extranjeras, pero no en pesos cubanos (CUP) ni en pesos cubanos convertibles (CUC).

Entre los precios anunciados están los de los televisores, que fluctuarán entre los 549 dólares (moneda de referencia), hasta los $1.139.

Los ciclomotores o motos eléctrica, que deberán ser inscritas a partir de noviembre para poder circular, se venderán en esas tiendas desde los $999 a $1.666.

En los nuevos establecimientos no se podrá pagar tampoco en efectivo, sino que será necesario ir a un banco para ingresar las divisas extranjeras o directamente recibir las remesas en las tarjetas.

Desde este lunes 21 los cubanos residentes en la Isla comenzaron a abrir sus cuentas en los bancos Metropolitano, Popular de Ahorro y de Crédito y Comercio para operar con las tarjetas magnéticas.

Para solicitar las cuentas bancarias, los cubanos solo necesitarán su carnet de identidad y la entrega de la tarjeta será en un plazo de tres a siete días (en La Habana y capitales provinciales), y de hasta 10 días en el resto del país.

Admitirán el depósito en efectivo de dólares estadounidenses, euros, libras esterlinas, dólares canadienses, francos suizos, pesos mexicanos, coronas danesas, coronas noruegas, coronas suecas y yenes japoneses.

Cuba justificó la creación de estas tiendas en MLC, que trae a la mente las desaparecidas “diplotiendas”, como una medida para recaudar divisas extranjeras que se van al exterior.

Las primeras doce tiendas en moneda libremente convertible (MLC) estarán disponibles a partir del 28 de octubre, pero solo en La Habana y en Santiago de Cuba.
