Ubicado en Pinar del Río, la más occidental provincia cubana, el Valle de Viñales es un accidente geográfico que tiene para sí toda la gama de colores con una belleza natural magestuosa.

A simple vista, aparecen los mogotes, formaciones montañosas únicas en la isla, repletos del verdor que inunda los sentidos, entrelazándose con el árbol nacional, la palma real.

El valle de Viñales es una depresión kárstica en Cuba. El valle tiene una superficie de 132 km2 (51 millas cuadradas) y se encuentra en la Sierra de los Órganos (parte de la cordillera Guaniguanico), justo al norte de Viñales en la provincia de Pinar del Río.

El tabaco y otros cultivos se cultivan en el fondo del valle, principalmente mediante técnicas agrícolas tradicionales. Muchas cuevas salpican las colinas circundantes (Cueva del Indio, Cueva de José Miguel).

Los llamativos acantilados de piedra caliza que se elevan como islas desde el fondo del valle se llaman mogotes. Pueden tener hasta 300 m de altura.

Hay algunas formaciones de montaña, únicas en la isla, llamadas mogotes. Estos mogotes constituyen formaciones geomorfológicas únicas donde algunos de ellos llegan a medir gran altura.
