Mario Sabines, Gobernador de Matanzas, dijo que más de 900 visitantes se encuentran hospedados en hoteles de Varadero, entre ellos en las Villas Kawama y Tortuga, el Meliá Internacional, de la cadena Gran Caribe y en el Memories Varadero, de Gaviota, entre otros, y la cifra crecerá en próximas horas.

En la Ciénaga de Zapata las Villas Playa Larga y Playa Girón también cuentan con clientes nacionales y las casas de renta, ubicadas en el mayor y mejor conservado humedal del Caribe insular, acoge a visitantes de provincias cercanas.

Hasta el momento la vida en ambos destinos turísticos transcurre con tranquilidad, no se aprecia aglomeración de personas y se cumplen en las instalaciones las medidas sanitarias indicadas para la actual fase recuperativa, comentó el Gobernador.

Ailuj Casanova, directora provincial de salud, aseguró que uno de los mayores retos del sector en esta temporada de verano lo constituye la presencia médica en el sector del turismo para velar por el cumplimiento del protocolo de bioseguridad, tanto en los clientes como en los trabajadores.
