EMPRESAS INGLESA Y ESTATAL CUBANA FIRMAN ACUERDO PARA PRODUCTOS BIOFARMACEUTICOS.
La estatal (BioCubaFarma) Grupo de las Industrias Biotecnológica y Farmaucética de Cuba y la compañía SG Innovations Limited del Reino Unido anunciaron este lunes la creación de una empresa mixta dirigida al desarrollo y acceso a productos biofarmacéuticos en Europa.
La asociación, que ha sido denominada BioFarma Innovations, tendrá su sede en el Reino Unido e Irlanda y estará presidida por David Triesman, según informa este lunes una nota publicada en la página web de la entidad cubana. Algunas de las diez principales compañías biofarmacéuticas del mundo tienen una presencia significativa en Irlanda y el país es un lugar comprobado para actividades de servicios multilingües.
Importancia de Irlanda en la Industria Bio-Pharmaceutical.
Triesman destacó en un comunicado que la creación de la nueva empresa mixta llega en “el momento en que las demandas en la industria de la salud nunca han sido mayores y la necesidad de nuevos medicamentos es más urgente”.
Su función será desarrollar y comercializar en Europa y la Mancomunidad Británica una cartera de productos biofarmacéuticos patentados por BioCubaFarma, así como permitir la inversión en el desarrollo de nuevos productos, incluyendo los ensayos clínicos y el lanzamiento de nuevos medicamentos.
Entre sus objetivos figura ampliar sus redes de distribución e incrementar la accesibilidad de estos productos en el mundo, incluido el combate contra la pandemia de la COVID-19.
El grupo empresarial del país caribeño refiere que, entre los medicamentos innovadores que produce, figuran algunos para el tratamiento del nuevo coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 que han mostrado resultados alentadores.
El presidente de BioCubaFarma, Eduardo Martínez, declaró que ese grupo empresarial está ofreciendo un enfoque “dinámico y abierto” a la colaboración con compañías farmacéuticas globales y organismos de salud pública en Europa y la Mancomunidad Británica, que va desde licencias hasta acuerdos de desarrollo conjunto e investigación, según citan medios estatales de la isla.
BioFarma Innovations se suma a otras empresas mixtas similares creadas en China, España, Tailandia y Singapur con la participación del Grupo Empresarial cubano.

Its role will be to develop and market in Europe and the British Commonwealth a portfolio of BioCubaFarma proprietary biopharmaceutical products, as well as allowing investment in the development of new products, including clinical trials and the launch of new medicines.
Its objectives include expanding its distribution networks and increasing the accessibility of these products worldwide, including fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
