Jencarlos Canela nació en Miami el 21 de abril de 1988 de padres cubanos, Lisette y Heriberto Canela. Es un cantante, compositor y actor cubanoamericano. Es el hermano mayor del actor Jason Canela y también tienen dos hermanos mayores, Erick y Annette. Canela se negó a seguir los pasos militares de su padre y se unió a Disney Channel para perseguir su sueño de ser el primer cantante cubano de Disney. [8]
Canela ha protagonizado la telenovela ‘Más sabe el diablo’, y otras dos telenovelas. Anunciaron que estaban esperando su primer hijo juntos y que los padrinos serían Cristina Saralegui y Pitbull. Espino dio a luz a su hijo, Nickolas Canela Espino, el 12 de febrero de 2012. Jencarlos Canela was born in Miami on April 21, 1988 of Cuban parents, Lisette and Heriberto Canela. He is a Cuban American singer, songwriter, and actor. He is the older brother of actor Jason Canela, and they also have two older siblings, Erick and Annette. Canela refused to follow his father’s military footsteps and joined Disney Channel to pursue his dream of being the first Cuban Disney Singer.[8]
Canela has starred in the telenovela ‘Más sabe el diablo’, and two other telenovelas. In September 2013, he began a new project called “Scan Me” on his official Vevo account with a series of YouTube videos showing behind the scenes clips as he and his collaborators created his new album.

In September 2011, Canela and Gaby Espino (Venezuelan actress and model) did a live chat over the social networking site Twitter, where they confirmed they were in a relationship. They announced that they were expecting their first child together and that godparents would be Cristina Saralegui and Pitbull. Espino gave birth to their son, Nickolas Canela Espino, on February 12, 2012. On August 26, 2014, both Canela and Espino confirmed on their official Facebook pages that they were ending their relationship. As of 2018-Present, Canela is dating Danna Hernández, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017.
