Leiden Gomis Fernández nació en la Habana, Cuba el 27 de diciembre de 1987, es conocida simplemente como ‘Leiden’ es una cantante y compositora cubano-mexicana.
Pese a haber nacido en Cuba, la carrera de Leiden se ha desarrollado mayoritariamente en México, donde llegó a la edad de 9 años, radicándose en Tijuana y posteriormente en Guadalajara. Leiden es nieta del poeta cubano Roberto Fernández Retamar, a quien considera una de sus principales influencias artísticas.
Leiden es una artista escénica cubana-mexicana que representa la configuración de la nueva canción latinoamericana. Es compositora, cantante, actriz y socióloga. Ha llevado a cabo giras nacionales e internacionales, con presentaciones en República Checa, Alemania, España, Portugal, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba y México.
Se ha presentado en los Festivales más importantes en México como Vive Latino, Cervantino, Coordenada, Rock por la Vida, entre otros. Con una de las mejores voces del continente, estilo ecléctico y letras potentes, Leiden se arriesga en el escenario llevando al espectador por un viaje energético, postmoderno y a la vez vintage.
Su propuesta escénica musical se considera parte del movimiento de la nueva canción, donde se fusionan las raíces latinoamericanas con el rock, jazz, pop urbano y poesía, cobrándole a la vida el sentido celebratorio de la diversidad para abrir ventanas de pluralidad sonora.
En el 2014 salió su disco homónimo bajo el sello de la disquera Intolerancia, con gran éxito en ventas, crítica internacional y nacional, y difusión de parte del público. De dicho disco se desprende la canción “Cuando soñaba” (viral en listas mundiales de Spotify).
En el 2015 graba su esperado DVD en vivo “La vuelta al Sol”. Ha hecho música para películas y cortometrajes y espectáculos escénicos. Además ha compartido escenario con los Auténticos Decadentes, Fermín Muguruza, Tijuana No, Torreblanca, Lengualerta, Denisse Gutiérrez (Hello Seahorse), Cecilia Toussaint, entre otros.
Ha sido vocalista del grupo cubano Déjà-vu, así como vocalista invitada de la banda Tijuana No.2 Como solista ha lanzado un disco homónimo, además de un EP y un DVD, y actualmente prepara el lanzamiento de su segundo álbum “Los muertos también dejan flores”, en 2017.
También ha participado en festivales como el Vive Latino 2015 y Rock por la vida.
Además de su carrera musical, también cuenta con un grado en sociología, disciplina que estudió en Guadalajara y La Habana, y que le ha permitido enriquecer sus composiciones.

Leiden Gomis Fernández was born in Havana, Cuba on December 27, 1987, she is known simply as ‘Leiden’ is a Cuban-Mexican singer and songwriter.
Despite being born in Cuba, Leiden’s career has developed mainly in Mexico, where she reached the age of 9, settling in Tijuana and later in Guadalajara. Leiden is the granddaughter of the Cuban poet Roberto Fernández Retamar, whom she considers one of her main artistic influences.
Leiden is a Cuban-Mexican performing artist who represents the configuration of the new Latin American song. She is a composer, singer, actress, and sociologist. She has carried out national and international tours, with presentations in the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, and Mexico.
