José Daniel Ferrer, el Coordinador General de la Unión Patriótica de Cuba (Unpacu) y Promotor de Cuba Decide, escribió una columna de opinión para el diario español ABC donde indica que ya es hora de iniciar una transición en Cuba.
“Es la hora de iniciar la transición a la democracia en Cuba y todos debemos dar nuestro mejor aporte. Además de deber moral, a todos nos conviene. Para salir de la grave crisis en que se encuentra inmersa nuestra patria, urge un Diálogo Nacional respetuoso y constructivo que dé inicio al proceso de transición hacia la democracia. Demorarlo más, resulta muy peligroso para todos. El Movimiento San Isidro, con su sacrificio y valor, ha dado lugar a un escenario de solidaridad y justos reclamos de derechos y espacios, que deben ser consolidados y extendidos por todo el territorio nacional y la diáspora cubana. Sin lucha firme, sin crecientes presiones de todos, no habrá libertad ni bienestar en nuestra nación. El opresor no respeta nunca voluntariamente los derechos de los oprimidos”, indica el líder opositor.
Ferrer dice que los dirigentes de línea dura del régimen deben entender que no pueden continuar sometiendo al pueblo cubano a la miseria extrema y a la total opresión.
“De nada les sirve ya, culpar a otros de lo que es responsabilidad de ellos. La represión y las mentiras no podrán demorar demasiado tiempo el estallido social que siempre es consecuencia de la intransigencia de quienes gobiernan tiránicamente. Cuanto más se aferren y dañen al pueblo, más severa será la justicia con ellos. Nada mejor para todos que una transición pacífica y ordenada a un Estado de Derecho”, plantea el expreso político de la Primavera Negra.
También hace un llamado a los funcionarios moderados y con ideas reformistas en las estructuras del régimen a “ser más audaces, defender sus criterios, enfrentar a los intransigentes y pensar en el bienestar de la nación.
A los opositores, periodistas, activistas y artistas les pide mayor solidaridad y unidad en la acción: “Necesitamos mayor comunicación y confianza entre todos. El régimen sabe cómo dividir y potenciar la desconfianza y rivalidades. Neutralicemos sus infames acciones, venzamos juntos cuantos obstáculos nos interpongan. Trabajemos con la mejor coordinación para motivar a esos miles de compatriotas que quieren libertad y democracia, pero hasta ahora se mantienen distantes y apáticos a toda lucha por sus derechos. Es hora de controlar egos y estar muy conectados, como expresan los del Movimiento San Isidro”.
El creador de la UNPACU insta a los los profesionales, trabajadores, campesinos, estudiantes, cuentapropistas, desocupados y amas de casa “que hasta ahora nada o muy poco hacen por sus derechos individuales y la democratización de la Nación” a que reflexionen sobre la grave crisis. Además pide a las instituciones religiosas de Cuba un papel más activo y comprometido con los activistas del Movimiento San Isidro, los presos políticos, las víctimas de la constante represión, los hambrientos y enfermos, los perseguidos y oprimidos.
“No es inmiscuirse en «política», es cumplir con el sagrado deber de todo cristiano de estar del lado del bien y la justicia”, dice Ferrer.
El opositor dice que los cubanos emigrados juegan un papel crucial en la lucha por la libertad: “Nada más vergonzoso que un cubano que salió en busca de libertad y bienestar, por temor o mezquinos intereses, apoye a la tiranía que oprime y empobrece a la nación”.

Finalmente pide a las naciones de Europa ser “más exigentes con el régimen castrocomunista y más solidarios con el pueblo, los defensores de los derechos humanos, opositores pacíficos, periodistas y artistas independientes y con todas las víctimas de la represión gubernamental.
EUROPA MUEVE FICHA EN EL TABLERO DE AJEDREZ CUBANO.
El cable nos trae la noticia de que “Europa ha dado un giro en su política exterior y ha entablado conversaciones “discretas, pero que serán regulares” con la oposición, la sociedad civil y la emigración cubanos, dijo a CiberCuba una funcionaria del Servicio de Acción Exterior de la Unión Europea (UE) que desvinculó el nuevo estilo a la huelga de hambre del Movimiento San Isidro, la protesta de intelectuales y artistas ante el Ministerio de Cultura y la llegada de Joe Biden a la Casa Blanca.
“Desde hace algún tiempo, venimos conversando con diferentes actores de la sociedad y la política cubanas”, añadió la funcionaria, que rehusó ser identificada; y deslindó claramente el diálogo europeo con “los recientes acontecimientos en La Habana y las elecciones norteamericanas”, aunque subrayó que los temas de derechos humanos y democracia forma parte de la agenda europea con Cuba.
En junio, la UE cambió su postura frente a La Habana, eliminando la singular calificación de considerar a Cuba, una “democracia de partido único”, desde entonces, ha habido contactos discretos con opositores, emigrados y activistas de la sociedad civil, que se han intensificado en los últimos dos meses.
Su versión fue corroborada por José Daniel Ferrer (UNPACU), Manuel Cuesta Morúa (Arco Progresista) y Juan Antonio Madrazo Luna (Comité Ciudadano por la Integración Racial) que confirmaron los encuentros precedentes con representantes de la UE en La Habana y América Latina y avanzaron que, en los próximos días, habría una reunión con cinco opositores y activistas anticastristas, sin precisar la fecha exacta.
“Tenemos una invitación para dentro de unos días a una audición sobre el Acuerdo de Diálogo de la Unión Europea con el régimen castrista. Estamos invitados varios opositores, creo somos cinco, y también la Embajadora de Cuba ante la UE. Es todo lo que hay hasta ahora.
