MALAS COSTUMBRES CUBANAS..”LOS GUATACAS” O “CHICHARRONES”.
Hemos abordado el tema de los delatores, soplones o como se les conoce en Cuba: chivatos, pero hay vamos a traer otro asociado a otras bajezas humanas, y me refiero a los adulones, más conocidos por nosotros como “guatacas o chicharrones”.
Uno de los ejemplos más gráficos vienen de la política cubana, perfeccionados o retratados magistralmente más tarde en un programa humorístico televisivo muy popular: San Nicolás del Peladero, donde el personaje de un vividor y guataca profesional, Ñico Rutina, se especializaba en una adulación ridícula y extrema cuando decía: “Las cenizas, Senador”. El Senador sacudía su tabaco en la mano de Ñico y éste se guardaba las cenizas en el bolsillo del saco de dril cien. Sin duda todo un clásico para ejemplificar a estos personajes de baja calaña.
ORIGEN DEL “GUATACA”.
Una guataca o azadón es un instrumento empleada en las tareas agrícolas para la limpieza de los cultivos de malas hierbas, remover la tierra de los surcos y otros trabajos, aunque lo emplean también los albañiles, donde no haya otros recursos mecanizados, para hacer la mezcla de concreto.
Estudiosos de los orígenes del uso de “guataca”, explican que se deriva de la práctica por parte de algunos campesinos pobres sin tierras que limpiaban los campos de otros propietarios (guataqueaban) gratuitamente para obtener favores de todo tipo.
Pero en Cuba, ser una guataca, más empleado en su género masculino, el guataca, representa a un adulador que colinda con lo servil. A su vez tiene otro uso popular, sirve para denominar las orejas, sobre todo cuando la persona las tiene grandes.
Como el cubano no puede quedarse con un único adjetivo, el guataca tiene otras acepciones, algunas chistosas y otras difíciles de asimilar si no eres de la Isla. Algunas serían “guatacón, chicharrón, halalevas, tracatán, hueleculo, chupamedias, besaculo, lameculo, lamebotas, cachanchán, huelepeos” y probablemente algunas otras.
EL GENIAL ELADIO SECADAS Y EL “GUATACÓN”
En nuestro país, si alguien los retrató como nunca antes y creo que después tampoco, fue el perito mayor en nuestras costumbres, defectos y virtudes, Eladio Secades, que en una de sus famosas “Estampas”, definió: .. “el guataca es el comején en el asta de la bandera; guataca es el que hace de la adulación un sistema de vida”; “la guataquería oral es el elogio usado a manera de sanguijuela”; “entre lo que valen y lo que creen valer los hombres públicos, casi siempre hay el vacío de un desfalco espiritual…el hombre, cuando los amigos lo adulan, cierra los ojos a las realidades, y se tiende panza arriba para dejarse rascar. Es cuando cree que si no lo elogian y lo adulan, lo están combatiendo”…
El “guatacón” por tanto es casi siempre el hipócrita por excelencia y eso lo hace ser poco confiable. El que le ríe todas las gracias y las cosas no graciosas, todo lo que haga o diga a otro con poder es la persona en la que no se puede uno fiar en lo absoluto.
Para ser guataca lo primero que hay que tener es la caradura, ser un mentiroso convencido y poseer un gran sentido de inferioridad, resumiendo, no tener vergüenza. Presenta como buena gente a un miserable, como lindo a alguien feo por dentro y por fuera, como noble a uno bajo y ruin, muestra una queja en forma de un halago inigualable. Nunca le guataqueará a un empleado humilde, así sea la persona más buena y honesta del mundo, se mueve solamente por interés.
Los narcisistas que se dan golpes de pecho y se dan lija en el ombligo, siempre tienen detrás a uno o varios de estos chicharrones que le han hecho creer, a fuerza de repetirlo tanto, que el de veras es mejor que otros. Eso lo hemos visto con políticos de todo tipo en todas las épocas, es una práctica miserable que no pasa de moda, aunque sea para obtener migajas.
El mundo sería muchísimo mejor si no existieran los guatacas y los chivatos. Y también los que se alimentan de esas bajezas humanas.

Scholars of the origins of the use of “guataca”, explain that it derives from the practice by some poor landless peasants who cleaned the fields of other owners (guataqueaban) for free to obtain favors of all kinds.
But in Cuba, being a guataca, more used in its masculine gender, the guataca, represents a flatterer who borders on the servile. At the same time, it has another popular use, it is used to name the ears, especially when the person has them large.
As the Cuban cannot stay with a single adjective, guataca has other meanings, some funny and others difficult to assimilate if you are not from the island. Some would be “guatacón, chicharrón, halalevas, tracatán, hueleculo, chupamedias, besaculo, lameculo, boot-lickers, cachanchán, huelepeos ”and probably some others.
THE GREAT ELADIO SECADAS AND THE “GUATACÓN”

The “guatacón” therefore is almost always the hypocrite par excellence and that makes him unreliable. The one who laughs at all the thanks and the not funny things, everything he does or says to another with power is the person in whom you cannot trust at all.
To be guataca, the first thing you have to have is cheekiness, be a convinced liar and have a great sense of inferiority, in short, not be ashamed. He presents a miserable person as good people, someone ugly inside and out as beautiful, a low and mean person as noble, he shows a complaint in the form of an incomparable compliment. He will never beat up a humble employee, even if he is the best and honest person in the world, he moves only out of interest.
Narcissists who beat their chest and sandpaper their navel always have one or more of these greaves behind them that have made them believe, by dint of repeating it so much, that the one is really better than others. We have seen that with politicians of all kinds at all times, it is a miserable practice that does not go out of style, even if it is to obtain crumbs.
The world would be so much better if there were no guanacos and snitches. And also those who feed on this human baseness.
