The comedian said on his Facebook profile that he will premiere with the singer the musical theme Yo soy Cubano and they have chosen the commemoration of “La Protesta de Baraguay” for historical reasons. On this occasion, the comedian called on Europe and the world to support Cubans in change, because the country needs a transition to democracy. “The world cannot continue to turn its back on what is happening in Cuba,” he said.
On his side, Chirino indicated that everyone knows the repression of the Cuban government and thanked a song like Patria y Vida for the opportunity to bring together his countrymen to promote democratic change in Cuba. “A song is stronger than a rifle or an army, and I know that. El músico cubano Willy Chirino y el actor, presentador y humorista Alexis Valdés confirmaron que el próximo 15 de marzo estrenarán su tema musical conjunto “Yo soy cubano”.
El humorista dijo en su perfil de Facebook que estrenará junto al cantante el tema musical Yo soy Cubano y han elegido la conmemoracion de “La Protesta de Baraguay” por razones históricas. Además, el cantante alertó a sus seguidores que estén atentos porque ambos artistas estarán posteando fragmentos del videoclip antes del estreno.
“Amigos, uno de los acontecimientos más trascendentales en la historia de la libertad de Cuba y que más está unido a la actual realidad que se vive en la isla es LA PROTESTA DE BARAGUÁ el 15 de Marzo de 1878. Por eso Alexis Valdés escogió esta fecha como lanzamiento de la canción ‘YO SOY CUBANO’ que el escribió y grabamos juntos el pasado mes de enero. WILLY & ALEXIS CANTAN “YO SOY CUBANO” (VIDEOS)
La canción ‘Yo soy cubano’, está dedicada a todos los cubanos que andan dispersos por el mundo y que mantienen viva sus raíces e identidad. El proyecto de este dúo de populares artistas pretende realizar un videoclip en que participen paisanos desde la mayor cantidad de lugares del mundo posible, según anunciaron en en su momento.
“Estamos preparando un vídeo en el que queremos incluir imágenes de cubanos que estén lo mismo en Europa, que en Asia, que en África, que en América del Norte o América del Sur. Es decir, que queremos que en este vídeo aparezcan muchos de ustedes, que son el motivo de esta canción”, dijo Alexis Valdés en su perfil de Instagram, donde animó a todos aquellos coterráneos que quisieran formar parte del audiovisual a que se grabaran desde algún lugar característico de las ciudad o pueblo en el que residieran. Debían añadir algún elemento significativo que haga referencia a la isla y que exprese la identidad y las costumbres del cubano.
Recientemente Valdés y Chirino estuvieron invitados a participar en el encuentro virtual que se produjo de artistas cubanos frente al Parlamento Europeo, bajo el título “Patria y Vida, arte y política unidos por Cuba”, a raíz del éxito de la canción Patria y Vida, interpretada por Yotuel, Gente de Zona, Descemer Bueno, Maykel Osorbo y el Funky.
En esta ocasión el humorista hizo un llamado a Europa y al mundo para que apoyen a los cubanos en el cambio, porque el país necesita una transición a la democracia. “No puede seguir el mundo dando la espalda a lo que pasa en Cuba”, expresó.
Por su parte Chirino indicó que todos conocen la represión del Gobierno cubano y agradeció a una canción como Patria y Vida la oportunidad de reunir a sus paisanos para impulsar un cambio democrático en Cuba. “Una canción es más fuerte que un rifle o que un ejército, y eso me consta. Una bala apaga un corazón; una canción, lo enciende. Hoy hay muchos corazones encendidos gracias a una canción”, dijo ante el parlamento Europeo.
El nuevo tema musical que han grabado Alexis Valdés y Willy Chirino es más que una canción. El video que preparan podría convertirse, si consiguen una amplia participación de cubanos en distintos lugares del mundo, en un testimonio hermoso de la diáspora cubana, que al decir del humorista, “quedará para siempre”.
