On the day of April 14, the most prominent Cubans in Major League Baseball were:
CARLOS RODÓN (2-0, 9IP, 7K, 0.00): no-hit, no-run in a win over the Cleveland Indians, 8-0, from a White Sox for which Luis Robert (5-2, 2B, RBI, R, .245) and Yoan Moncada (4-1, 2RBI, R, HBP, K, .186) drove in runs, with great defensive plays by the latter and José Abreu (3-0, 2BB, 2K , .196), which preserved the result.
The no-hit, no-run by left-hander Rodón is the 20th pitched by a White Sox pitcher, the most accomplished team in the American League. Rodón missed the perfect game because of a ball he hit in the ninth inning.
BRYAN GARCÍA (2S, IP, 2K, BB, 5.40): Second save of the year in the Tigers’ 6-4 win over the Houston Astros, for which Yulieski Gurriel (3-2, 2B, 2RBI, 2BB, .429) at fourth bat, while Aledmys Diaz (4-0, R, BB, 3K, .250) had one.
YANDI DÍAZ (4-2, .286): Pair of hits in the Rayos’ backhand 1 to 5, with Arozarena (4-0, 2K, .289) as the third bat, against the Texas Rangers.
To a lesser degree they were:
Nick Castellanos (4-0, K, .306): Grout out to Reds by Giants, 0-3.
José Iglesias (4-0, .234) and Jon Jay (4-0, .125): unproductive in the loss of the Angels, for whom Raisel Iglesias (K, .6.75) took the last out, 1 to 6 versus the Kansas Royals, with Jorge Soler (2-0, K, .129) still off.
What’s more:
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (4-1, K, .167): An unstoppable hit in the Blue Jays’ 6-5 win over the Yankees.
JD Martínez (3-0, BB, 2K and 2-0, R, 2BB, K, .378): three walks and one scored in the Red Sox’s double win over the Twins, 3-2 and 7 1.

El no-hit, no-run del zurdo Rodón es el vigésimo lanzado por un pitcher de las Medias Blancas, el equipo que más lo ha logrado en la Liga Americana. A Rodón se le escapó el juego perfecto por un pelotazo que propinó ya en el noveno inning.
