THE SENSATION (SENSACIÓN) ORCHESTRA, ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR MUSICAL ENSEMBLES OF CUBA.
The Sensación (Sensation) Orchestra has been for many years one of the most popular Musical Ensembles in Cuba. It was founded on September 23, 1953, in the popular neighborhoods rumbero “Los Sitios in the City of Havana, Cuba”, the three founders were Rolando Valdes (Guiro and Director), Jesus, and Miquel Esquijarrosa Santa Cruz, both percussionists.
It was the first charanga-type orchestra to introduce the trombone, incorporating Generoso Jiménez into it. As flutist he counted on Richard Egües, who in turn was his conductor and orchestrator.
The Wind Orchestra has always been known for keeping his charanga format and style retaining ring inside the very own dance music.

La Orquesta Sensación ha sido por muchos años uno de los más populares conjuntos musicales de Cuba. Fue fundada el 23 de septiembre de 1953, en los populares barrios rumbero “Los Sitios de la Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba”, los tres fundadores fueron Rolando Valdés (Guiro y Director), Jesús, y Miquel Esquijarrosa Santa Cruz, ambos percusionistas.
Siendo la primera orquesta tipo charanga en introducir el trombón, incorporando a Generoso Jiménez. Como flautista contó con Richard Egües, quien a su vez fue su director y orquestador.
La Orquesta de Viento siempre se ha caracterizado por mantener su formato de charanga y un anillo de retención de estilo dentro de la propia música de baile.
