Estados Unidos reclamó el martes (25.05.2021) a Cuba que libere “inmediatamente” a los artistas disidentes Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara y Maykel “el Osorbo” Castillo, y le advirtió al gobierno de la isla que “no puede silenciar a sus críticos”.
“@LMOAlcantara y Maykel ‘el Osorbo’ Castillo deben ser liberados inmediatamente”, señaló en Twitter la embajada de Estados Unidos en La Habana. La legación diplomática dejó claro que “Estados Unidos rechaza la detención de artistas por ejercer su libertad de expresión”, y que “el gobierno cubano no puede silenciar a sus críticos mediante la violación de sus derechos humanos”.
El gobierno cubano acusa a Otero Alcántara y a Castillo, uno de los intérpretes de ‘Patria y Vida’, una canción de protesta incisiva de raperos cubanos viralizada en las redes sociales, de tratar de manipular la situación política y estar financiados y manejados por organizaciones en Estados Unidos.
Según el contestatario Movimiento San Isidro (MSI), un colectivo de artistas universitarios opositores al que pertenecen ambos artistas, Castillo está detenido desde el 13 de mayo y está “siendo procesado por Atentado, Desacato y Resistencia”.
