NETFLIX LAUNCHES THE FILM “VIVO” INSPIRED BY THE CUBAN MUSIC WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF GLORIA ESTEFAN. VIDEOS
“I think the film captures very well the spirit of the country, the spirit of Havana,” revealed Cuban-American musician and producer Juan de Marcos.
THE GIANT OF streaming, Netflix, premiered this Friday the long-awaited animated film ‘Vivo’, inspired by Cuban music and with the participation of the Cuban-American diva Gloria Estefan.
The character that gives its name to the new musical tape, who is voiced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is a kinkajú (a carnivorous mammal related to raccoons and coatis) from the Caribbean and Central America, who is in charge of telling this story that rescues the best of Cuban culture and music, with the infallible commitment to love.
Vivo ventures to fulfill the last will of his human and music teacher, Andrés, played by Juan de Marcos, from the Buena Vista Social Club. The friendly kinkajú embarks on an unforgettable musical adventure from Havana to Miami, to deliver a love song to Marta Sandoval, a Cuban song diva who lives in South Florida and whose voice is performed by Gloria Estefan.

Marta was the musical partner and love of Andrés’ life, who stayed living in Cuba, while the singer became an important star in Miami.

The film takes place in Cuba and Miami, with settings as Cuban as the Old Square of Havana.
“I think the film captures very well the spirit of the country, the spirit of Havana, the architecture, the way people behave. Because this is something important,” Marcos told RPP Noticias.
The cast is completed by Zoe Saldaña, who voices Rosa; Ynairaly Simo as Gabi, Brian Tyree Henry as Dancarino, Michael Rooker as Lutador and Nicole Byer as Valentina.
The film is directed by Kirk DeMicco, who wrote the script with Quiara Alegría Hudes. The songs in the film are written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Gloria Estefan told the premiere of the film last week that to develop her character she was inspired by Celia Cruz, Olga Gulliot and her mother.

EL GIGANTE DEL streaming, Netflix, estrenó este viernes la tan esperada cinta animada Vivo, inspirada en la música cubana y con la participación de la diva cubanoamericana Gloria Estefan.
El personaje que da nombre a la nueva cinta musical, a quien le pone voz Lin-Manuel Miranda, es un kinkajú (mamífero carnívoro pariente de los mapaches y los coatíes) oriundo del Caribe y América Central, quien se encarga de contar esta historia que rescata lo mejor de la cultura y la música cubanas, con la infalible apuesta por el amor.
Vivo se aventura a cumplir la última voluntad de su humano y maestro de música, Andrés, interpretado por Juan de Marcos, del Buena Vista Social Club. El simpático kinkajú se embarca en una inolvidable aventura musical de La Habana a Miami, para entregarle una canción de amor a Marta Sandoval, una diva de la canción cubana que vive en el sur de Florida y cuya voz es interpretada por Gloria Estefan.
Marta fue compañera musical y el amor de la vida de Andrés, quien se quedó viviendo en Cuba, mientras la cantante se convirtió en una estrella importante en Miami.

La película se desarrolla en Cuba y Miami, con escenarios tan cubanos como la Plaza Vieja de La Habana.

El elenco lo completan Zoe Saldaña, que da voz a Rosa; Ynairaly Simo como Gabi, Brian Tyree Henry como Dancarino, Michael Rooker interpreta a Lutador y Nicole Byer a Valentina.
El filme está dirigido por Kirk DeMicco, quien escribió el guion junto a Quiara Alegría Hudes. Las canciones de la película están escritas por Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Gloria Estefan contó en la premiere de la cinta la pasada semana que para desarrollar su personaje se inspiró en Celia Cruz, Olga Gulliot y en su madre.
