WILLY CHIRINO PAYS A TROPICAL TRIBUTE TO THE LEGENDARY BEATLES WITH HIS RECORD “MY BEATLES HEART”. (VIDEOS)
The Cuban singer-songwriter Willy Chirino performs with “heart and soul” in the recording of his album “My Beatles Heart”, in which he pays tribute to the legendary British group.
The Miami-based salsa singer said that “the only way to be satisfied is to know that I paid a fair tribute to John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Because the Beatles were such a huge part of our lives back then many of their songs have very special memories for me. As such I’m usually not a big fan of people covering Beatle songs and applying their own style – until now. I can’t recall exactly what made me first listen to this CD, but I was floored”.

It is immediately obvious that Willy Chirino loves the Beatles and their music every bit as much as the rest of us who grew up in that era.
The album dedicated to the Beatles reflects the influence that the British band had on Chirino since he was a child, has 12 songs, including a collaboration with Flo-Rida and Black Dada, on the single “All you need Is love”.
The plate also includes “Because”, “Come together” and “Across the Universe”, among other classics besides “Yellow submarine”, “Drive my car” and “Blackbird”.

The Cuban singer born in Consolacion del Sur, Pinar del Rio on April 5, 1947, is also an outstanding composer. He left Cuba in 1960 to the United States via “Operation Peter Pan”, designed to get Cuban children out of the country due to, among other things, fears that the government would take them from their parents. Chirino would later record “Nuestro Día Ya Viene Llegando” (“Our Day is Coming”), a song loosely based on his experiences as a refugee which has become an anthem for Cuban exiles everywhere.
In 2014, Chirino received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas for his music career.

El cantante de salsa radicado en Miami dijo que “la única forma de estar satisfecho es saber que le rindí un justo homenaje a John, Paul, George y Ringo. Debido a que los Beatles eran una parte tan importante de nuestras vidas en ese entonces, muchas de sus canciones tienen recuerdos muy especiales para mí. Como tal, por lo general no soy un gran admirador de la gente que hace versiones de canciones de los Beatles y aplican su propio estilo, hasta ahora. No puedo recordar exactamente qué me hizo escuchar este CD por primera vez, pero me quedé anonadado “.
