Actor cubano Jorge Perugorría: “El camino desde el gobierno no debe ser reprimir”. “Muchos dicen que para ir adelante hay que romper, pero otros aspiramos a que el propio gobierno evolucione sin llegar al caos, sin perder la institucionalidad y ponga en práctica las reformas que no permite desde hace 15 años”, dijo el actor.
El reconocido actor Jorge Perugorría criticó al gobierno cubano por responder con represión a quienes se oponen a la ideología dominante.
En una entrevista publicada este miércoles en el diario español El Mundo, Perugorría comentó que Cuba “atraviesa un momento difícil”, refiriéndose a este como “la peor crisis en años”, si bien responsabilizó en parte a las sanciones de la administración de Donald Trump.
“Hoy Cuba atraviesa un momento difícil porque las reformas se han demorado mucho y es muy necesario hacerlas para salir de la peor crisis en años a la que se ha sumado la pandemia y la férrea política de bloqueo de Trump. Hay escasez de comida y medicamentos porque Cuba ha demorado esos cambios que tenía que haber hecho hace tiempo”, dijo.

El artista, que se hizo ntenacionalmente conocido por su papel protagónico en el filme Fresa y Chocolate, consideró que hay gente que piensa distinto y sigue presa, y deseó que les liberen. “El camino desde el gobierno no debe ser reprimir, pero tampoco lo es el discurso de odio exterior. La lucha para cambiar debe ser desde dentro”, expuso.
“Muchos dicen que para ir adelante hay que romper, pero otros aspiramos a que el propio Gobierno evolucione sin llegar al caos, sin perder la institucionalidad y ponga en práctica las reformas que no permite desde hace 15 años. Los jóvenes intelectuales tienen que marcar el camino y eso es lo que le seguimos batallando”, aseveró.
Perugorría actualmente se encuentra trabajando en una serie original de la plataforma de cine en línea Filmin, donde interpreta al Doctor Portuondo, un excéntrico psicólogo exiliado en Barcelona, que creó el escritor español Carlo Padial. “Es un personaje bien loco, pero su relación con Carlo es un encuentro de generaciones muy rico por el recuerdo detenido en el tiempo que este tiene de un hombre del siglo pasado, que vive en una consulta y es totalmente analógico”, describió.
“La Cuba que añora ya no existe, es otro país, la isla cambió radicalmente. Ese glamour y ese paraíso está en la nostalgia de algunos privilegiados. Cuba ha sido muy contradictoria con esos cabarets para privilegiados y la pobreza absoluta. Y ya no existe, hoy es otra”, agregó respecto del personaje.
Tras las protestas masivas del 11J en Cuba, Perugorría igualmente reclamó al Gobierno por la respuesta violenta dada entonces a los manifestantes. “El pueblo que salió a las calles a manifestar su malestar y su descontento tiene que ser escuchado, no reprimido. La violencia, la represión, la división y el odio jamás serán el camino”, escribió desde su cuenta de Instagram.
