LA HABANA: CERCA DE UN MILLON DE PAQUETES enviados desde el extranjero a Cuba están amontonados en almacenes estatales y una parte de ellos desde hace más de un año, mientras los destinatarios, agobiados por las necesidades, no logran que se los entreguen.
Con la peor crisis económica de este siglo y un creciente desabastecimiento en los mercados de la Isla, las familias cubanas se han vuelto cada vez más dependientes de estos paquetes para sobrevivir. Se trata, en la mayoría de los casos, de medicamentos, vitaminas, artículos de aseo personal, calzado y ropa, productos que no le cuesta al régimen su elaboración y que tampoco, a la vista está, puede hacer llegar a las manos de sus destinatarios.
La información sobre el retraso en las entregas llegó este jueves de la boca del propio primer ministro, Manuel Marrero Cruz, que exigió, recoge la prensa oficial, “una solución definitiva”, aunque sin especificar cómo.
Hace tan solo tres semanas, tras visitar en La Habana cuatro agencias que se dedican a recibir y repartir la paquetería internacional, Marrero dijo que estaban realizando “un chequeo semanal” para ver cómo “impulsaban” el proceso de distribución. EL “BLOQUEO” DE ESTADOS UNIDOS?
Lo más sorprendente de su intervención del jueves es que Marrero no culpó al ‘bloqueo’ de Estados Unidos, a la vez que reconoció que los retrasos en el servicio tampoco estuvieron relacionados con el covid-19. Así, pidió con vehemencia poner punto final a los recurrentes “atrasos en estas gestiones (con y sin pandemia) a lo largo del tiempo”.
Incluso, aseguró que el centro de dirección creado en el Ministerio de Transporte ya había dado “muy importantes resultados”. Empresas que distribuían diariamente entre 1.000 y 2.000 bultos diarios habían pasado a entregar 19.000, detalló el primer ministro.
Solo entre el 29 de septiembre y el 5 de octubre se recibieron unos 114.000 paquetes en la Isla. En ese período se despacharon poco más de 305.000 y 80.000 fueron clasificados como atrasados. En los almacenes este jueves quedaban alrededor de un millón de bultos que deben ser entregados a poco más de 500.000 clientes, indicó Granma.
El diario oficial aclaró que 30 días es el término máximo aceptado para considerar que la entrega está a tiempo: “Más allá, es demora”.
Además de las quejas por los retrasos de meses en las entregas, también las agencias estatales son muy criticadas por corrupción y robo de mercancías. Dos de ellas son Aerovaradero y Correos de Cuba, que han tenido que reconocer los habituales desfalcos de los paquetes y pedir disculpas a sus clientes.

LA HAVANA: CLOSE TO A MILLION OF PACKAGES sent from abroad to Cuba have been piled up in state warehouses and a part of them for more than a year, while the recipients, overwhelmed by needs, cannot get them delivered.
With the worst economic crisis of this century and a growing shortage in the island’s markets, Cuban families have become increasingly dependent on these packages to survive. These are, in most cases, medicines, vitamins, personal hygiene items, footwear, and clothing, products that do not cost the regime to prepare and that, insight, can not reach the hands of their recipients.
The information on the delay in deliveries came this Thursday from the mouth of the Prime Minister himself, Manuel Marrero Cruz, who demanded, according to the official press, “a definitive solution”, although without specifying how.

The most surprising thing about his intervention on Thursday is that Marrero did not blame the United States ‘blockade’, while acknowledging that the delays in service were also not related to covid-19. He even assured that the management center created in the Ministry of Transport had already yielded “very important results.” Companies that distributed between 1,000 and 2,000 packages a day had come to deliver 19,000, the prime minister explained.
