ISOLINA CARRILLO, DISTINGUIDA MÚSICO CUBANA Y COMPOSITORA DE “DOS GARDENIAS”. VIDEOS.
Isolina Carrillo Estrada fue una destacada pianista cubana y compositora del bolero ‘Dos Gardenias’ que la inmortalizó, pues se convirtió en uno de los clásicos latinos de todos los tiempos.

Nacida en La Habana el 9 de diciembre de 1907 desde muy joven formó parte de varias agrupaciones musicales cubanas, con las cuales realizó numerosas giras por el continente americano.
Estudió en el Conservatorio Municipal de La Habana. En 1917 comenzó a trabajar como pianista suplente de la Orquesta de Calixto Allende, que actuaba en el cine silente ‘Strand’; más tarde lo haría en el ‘Hisperia’ y el ‘Favorito’.
CARRERA ARTISTICA
En los siguientes años fundó el septeto Las Trovadoras del Cayo, donde además de dirigir, tocaba la trompeta; integró como pianista un trío con Vicente González Rubiera (Guyún) guitarra, y Marcelino Guerra (Rapindey), cantante; el Quinteto Siboney, con Joseíto Núñez, Alfredito León, Facundo Rivero y Marcelino Guerra (Rapindey); el Conjunto Tropicuba y el Trío Sepia.

En 1938 trabajó en CMQ radio, y después en la RHC, Cadena Azul, de Amado Trinidad Velazco, hasta 1952; en esta última creó una orquesta gigante de danzones, hizo jingles, fue pianista repertorista y acompañante. En México le fue otorgado el Premio Ariel, en 1952, por mantenerse su canción ‘Dos gardenias’ por dos años consecutivos en la preferencia del público.
En su clásico bolero “Dos Gardenias” decia:
“Dos gardenias para ti,
Que tendrán todo el calor de un beso;
De esos besos que te dí
Y que jamás encontrarás
En el calor de otro querer”.
También otras radioemisoras contaron con sus servicios: La Voz de Oro y Cuban Telephone Co. André Kostelanetz le pidió una obra creada especialmente para ser interpretada por su orquesta, de ahí surgió ‘Miedo de ti’. Además, tocaba guitarra, Tres (Instrumento musical), bongó, órgano, que estudió con Rafael Palau en la Catedral de La Habana, y trompeta, que estudió con Lázaro Herrera; como cantante interpretó boleros, tangos, guarachas, así como obras de Ernesto Lecuona y en ocasiones lo hacía en inglés.

Fue profesora de canto. Realizó giras por Venezuela, Panamá, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, Lima y México.
Es sus propias palabras hablando de su composición “Dos Gardenias”, este fue un texto que “expresa los sentimientos de todos los enamorados, en cualquier lugar del planeta en que se encuentren. Hay canciones que hablan de desamores, de angustias, celos y pasiones frustradas, y esta transmite todo lo contrario. “Dos Gardenias” es un canto a la ternura y la esperanza”.
Aunque es esta su creación más conocida, Isolina Carrillo incursionó en una extensa variedad de géneros de la música cubana y universal. En el pentagrama musical de la Isla figuran sones, guarachas, canciones líricas, afrocubanas, ritmos brasileros y de otras naciones, surgidos de la fecunda inspiración de esta mujer cubana ciento por ciento.

las gardenias de mi amor se mueren,
es porque han adivinado
que tu amor me ha traicionado
porque existe otro querer”.
Entre sus mas de 200 obras musicales están: Acuarela tropical, Canción sin amor, Castillo de ensueño, Como yo jamás, Cuando me faltas tú, Cuando menos lo pienses, Dos gardenias, Fiesta de besos, Increíble, Ironía, Lejos de ti, por solo hablar de las muchas de sus composiciones.
Así fue esta mujer excepcional que legó legendarias creaciones a la historia de la música cubana. En cada una de ellas vive, canta y sonríe, eternamente, nuestra Isolina Carrillo.
Isolina murió en la Habana el 21 de febrero de 1996.

Isolina Carrillo Estrada was a prominent Cuban pianist and composer of the bolero ‘Dos Gardenias’ that immortalized her, as she became one of the Latin classics of all time.
She was born in Havana on December 9, 1907, from a very young age, she was part of several Cuban musical groups, with which she made numerous tours of the American continent.
