La película biográfica ‘Blonde’, que protagoniza la cubana, era uno de los filmes más esperados de 2021, pero ha visto retrasado su estreno. La plataforma de streaming NETFLIX decidió retrasar su estreno hasta 2022 debido a que está calificada como un filme NC-17 por su fuerte contenido sexual. O sea, sería solo para mayores de 17 años.
NETFLIX habría retrasado el estreno de la película biográfica sobre Marilyn Monroe interpretada por la cubana Ana de Armas, “Blonde”, porque a los ejecutivos de la plataforma les habría horrorizado que su contenido sea demasiado sexual y explícito.
El largometraje dirigido por Andrew Dominik era una de las películas más esperadas de 2021, iba a tener su premier en el pasado Festival de Cine de Venecia, en agosto pasado, y además sonaba como una fuerte candidata a los Premios Oscar del próximo año.
Sin embargo, la plataforma de streaming decidió retrasar su estreno hasta 2022 debido a que está calificada como un filme NC-17 por su fuerte contenido sexual. O sea, sería solo para mayores de 17 años.

“Les ha pillado por sorpresa. Creían que tenían un valor seguro para los Oscar y en realidad se trata de una película de autor confusa e insensible”, comentó el sitio especializado World of Reel.
No obstante, de acuerdo con la revista Esquire, “Netflix estaba absolutamente horrorizado por el corte que Andrew Dominik les presentó, que incluía una escena de violación y ‘cunnilingus menstrual sangriento’. Ellos quieren una nueva versión de la película. Dominik, no”.
Blonde, que lleva diez años en producción y, según su director, “será una de las diez mejores películas de la historia”, fue vista por el director del Festival de Cannes, Thierry Frémaux, quien aseguró que el filme pudo haber formado parte de la selección del importante certamen este año.

También la autora de la novela homónima, Joyce Carol Oates, se deshizo en elogios con el filme. “Es un exquisito retrato de Marilyn Monroe por parte de Ana de Armas y del director Andrew Dominik. Uno sin el otro quizás no habrían podido hacer esta magia. El tono de la película es difícil de clasificar, no es surrealista pero tampoco totalmente realista, no es de ‘terror’, pero está impregnado del pavor del horror”, escribió en su perfil de Twitter.
Tras unos dos meses de conflicto, Netflix habría cedido para permitir al realizador hacer un montaje del director sin filtros, sin cortes, con las polémicas escenas. Y aunque no hay confirmación de parte de ninguno de los implicados, algunos rumores señalan que su estreno definitivo podría ocurrir en el próximo Festival de Cine de Sundance en enero de 2022.
