Flor de Loto La Rua es una actriz, músico, cantante y compositora conocida por sus participaciones en “La mujer de mi vida” (1998), “Enamorada” (1999) y “Diana Carolina” (1984).
Flor de Loto de la Rúa, también conocida en el mundo artistico como “Flor D’Loto” o “Flor DeLoto” nació en La Habana, Cuba un 23 de Junio de 1941, comenzando su carrera a temprana edad haciendo su debut como artista infantil, siendo una niña prodigio a la edad de 8 años, su primer contracto de televisión fue para un programa infantil en el canal 4 donde Rosendo Rosell era el conductor.
Estudio Canto con la afamada Lidia de Rivera en el Vedado y con la profesora Húngara María de Gonich. Curso estudios en arte dramático con Adela Escartin, Alberto González-Rubio, Rubén Vagón, director de la sala teatro, y María Julia Casanova, la sala Hubert de Blanc. Estudio guitarra clásica con Enriqueta Almanza y armonía con Doris de la Torre.

CARRERA ARTISTICA
Su primera obra de teatro Ricitos de Oro la hace crecer en esta faceta histriónica en la que hace despliegue de un talento y una vocación al arte escénico que desarrolla mas tarde. Sus primeros programas infantiles en CMQ fueron “El Viejito Chi Chi” donde compartió el escenario televisivo con otros artistas como Lucerito De España.
Es elegida a nivel popular Reina Infantil de la Televisión junto a Miss y Mr. televisión “Rosita Fornes y Armando Bianchi”, recibiendo su primer trofeo infantil y ganándose un contrato en el Canal 4 en el primer programa infantil de la televisión con Rosendo Rosell, debutando como cantante infantil. Posteriormente se presenta en el teatro Blanquita con Tina de Mola y Ernesto Boninno de origen italiano y que causaron furor en Cuba en los años 50.
A los 15 años hace su primera novela radial en CMQ con Rolando Barral, Alberto Insua, Carlos Barba, Carlos Alberto Badia y Roberto Rodríguez “Cinco a las cinco” y “El Secreto de Soto Mayor”, siendo honrada con el premio de los críticos asociados de radio y televisión Premio CARTV.
Debuta en el Casino Parisién de la Habana como primera figura de las producciones musicales presentadas por Carlos Sandor, argentino y productor de televisión, dándole la oportunidad de participar en “Jueves de Partagas” y otros programas de la televisión cubana. A los 18 años se realiza como una gran actriz versátil y es aclamada como la revelación del año por su participación en la revistas de comedia del teatro “Martí” de la Habana, valiéndole la nominación de actriz revelación del año.
Su trayectoria artística trasciende a diferentes países como Brasil, México, Panamá, Venezuela, Perú, Chile, República Dominicana, Buenos Aires, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico.
FLOR DE LOTO SE MUDA A PUERTO RICO
Salió definitivamente de Cuba en 1960, de ahí pasó a Puerto Rico donde tuvo una participación destacada en las telenovelas con más de 20 producciones y más tarde en Venezuela y Miami. En Puerto Rico participa en varias mini series y posteriormente es contratada para participar en una novela escrita por Delia Fiallo convirtiéndose en la mejor novela del año y traducida en varios idiomas dándose así a conocer en Europa y en todo latino América.
Su primera novela “Martha Llorens” surge en Puerto Rico, ganándole un contrato de cinco novelas más, ‘Ariana’ junto al actor Arnaldo Andrés, ‘Viernes Social’, ‘Julieta’, ‘Poquita Cosa’. Viaja de Puerto Rico a Venezuela contratada para participar de la novela “Diana Carolina”. Participa en varias novelas venezolanas como “Enamorada” con Carlos Mata, “La Mujer de mi Vida” con Mario Cimarro.
Se le otorga el premio “Agueybana” en Puerto Rico, máximo galardón otorgado por la novela ‘Guadalupe’ de la afamada escritora cubana Delia Fiallo, junto a Héctor Travieso, Adela Noriega y Eduardo Yáñez. Cabe mencionar que Flor D’ Loto recibió tres “Agueybana” de oro en Puerto Rico.
Viaja a Miami donde forma parte del elenco de comedia junto a Leopoldo Fernández (Tres Patines) en el teatro Radio Centro, viajando después a Costa Rica con esa compañía teatral. Debuta en el Eden Rock en Miami Beach como figura central en las producciones de Julio Gutiérrez por dos años consecutivos. En el salón Tropigala de El Hotel Fountainebleau en Miami Beach se presenta en diferentes conciertos así como en otras salas de la ciudad de Miami. Entre otros Los Violines Súper Club y en el Teatro Martí.
En el Dade County Auditórium de Miami se estrena una sátira de la novela “Guadalupe” producida por Ari Kadouri, donde se presento con un éxito sin precedentes (lleno total). Ha participado en las producciones de Pro-Arte Gratelli en el Miami Dade County Auditórium, en “Las Divas Del Feeling” y la zarzuela “La Corte del Rey Faraón”, así como en varios conciertos con el Maestro Meme Solís.
PREMIOS Y NOMINACIONES
Es nominada y honrada en la ciudad de Miami por los alcaldes Steve Clark, Alex Pénelas asi como Tomas Regalado y Carlos Jiménez en las ciudades floridanas. Recibe varios premios como el premio “Acrin” en tres ocasiones, otorgado por Lourdes Montaner, trofeo dedicado a Otto Sirgo.
Recibe el “Cordero de Oro” como cantante del año en Puerto Rico. Además, se gana el “Premio Raíces” otorgado en Miami a los talentos locales e internacionales. Viaja a Chile para participar en el programa de Don Francisco y le es entregada la Llave de Oro de la Universidad Católica de Chile en Noche de Gigantes – premio especial entregado por Don Francisco en dicha ciudad. También recibe la Llave de la Ciudad de Miami Beach otorgado por el alcalde de Miami Beach Mayor Seymour Gelber por su contribución al arte y la cultura.
Es honrada por el alcalde de San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jorge Santini en agosto del 2001 donde es proclamada “La Diva Internacional de la Bohemia”. Cuenta con 10 producciones discográficas, grabadas en España, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Brasil y Estados Unidos.
Sus más reciente conciertos en Miami, “Bolero Loves Jazz” dirigida por el Maestro Luis Espindola y la participación de “Negroni’s Trio”, nominado a un Grammy. “Noche Bajo Las Estrellas” y posteriormente concierto en el Teatro Trial.
El 3 de Marzo del 2013 en el espectáculo “Cuba y Puerto Rico en Son” en el Miami Dade County Auditórium se le otorgo por su Trayectoria Artística el galardón/ medalla “Osvaldo Farres”, compositor más importante de la década por sus composiciones como “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás”, “Toda Una Vida” y “Acércate Mas” entre otras.
El 14 de Abril del 2013 se le otorgó por segunda vez, por su aportación a las Artes y a la Música con el galardón “Facundo Rivero”, reconocido músico y compositor cubano. El 22 de Junio del 2013 recibió la Llave de la ciudad de Miami otorgada por la alcaldía de Miami.
En Diciembre 4, 2013 en la sala de Mujeres Ilustres del Capitolio de San Juan, Puerto Rico se le entrego la Resolución del Senado de Puerto Rico por su trayectoria artística.

Flor de Loto La Rua is an actress, singer, and songwriter known for her appearances in “La Mujer de mi Vida” (1998), “Enamorada” (1999), and “Diana Carolina” (1984).
Flor de Loto de la Rúa, also known in the art world as “Flor D’Loto” or “Flor DeLoto” was born in Havana, Cuba on June 23, 1941, beginning her career at an early age making her debut as a child artist. Being a child prodigy at the age of 8, her first television contract was for a children’s program on channel 4 where Rosendo Rosell was the host.
She studied Singing with the famous Lidia de Rivera in Vedado and with the Hungarian teacher María de Gonich. She studied drama with Adela Escartin, Alberto González-Rubio, Rubén Vagón, director of the theater room, and María Julia Casanova, the Hubert de Blanc room. She studied classical guitar with Enriqueta Almanza and harmony with Doris de la Torre.
On the radio, Cadena Azul participates in another children’s program with Luisa María Guell reading and interpreting the comic strips that are published in different newspapers in the country.
ARTISTIC CAREER
Her first play Goldilocks of her makes her grow in this histrionic facet in which she displays a talent and a vocation to the performing arts that she develops later. Her first children’s programs on CMQ were “El Viejito Chi Chi” where she shared the television stage with other artists such as Lucerito De España.
She is elected at a popular level Children’s Queen of Television along with Miss and Mr. television “Rosita Fornes and Armando Bianchi”, receiving her first children’s trophy and winning a contract on Channel 4 in the first children’s television program with Rosendo Rosell, debuting as a child singer. She later appears at the Blanquita theater with Tina de Mola and Ernesto Boninno of Italian origin and who caused a furor in Cuba in the 50s.
At the age of 15, she made her first radio novel on CMQ with Rolando Barral, Alberto Insua, Carlos Barba, Carlos Alberto Badia and Roberto Rodríguez “Cinco a las cinco” and “El Secreto de Soto Mayor”, being honored with the critics’ award radio and television associates CARTV Award.
She made her debut at the Casino Parisién in Havana as the leading figure in the musical productions presented by Carlos Sandor, an Argentine and television producer, giving her the opportunity to participate in “Jueves de Partagas” and other Cuban television programs. At 18 years old, she performs as a great versatile actress and is acclaimed as the revelation of the year for her participation in the comedy magazines of the “Martí” theater in Havana, earning her the nomination of revelation actress of the year.
Her artistic career transcends different countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Buenos Aires, the United States, and Puerto Rico.
FLOR DE LOTO MOVES TO PUERTO RICO
She definitely left Cuba in 1960, from there she went to Puerto Rico where she had outstanding participation in soap operas with more than 20 productions and later in Venezuela and Miami. In Puerto Rico, she participates in several mini-series and is later hired to participate in a novel written by Delia Fiallo, becoming the best novel of the year and translated into several languages, thus becoming known in Europe and throughout Latin America.

Her most recent concerts in Miami, “Bolero Loves Jazz” conducted by Maestro Luis Espindola, and the participation of “Negroni’s Trio”, nominated for a Grammy. “Night Under the Stars” and later a concert at the Trial Theater.
On March 3, 2013, at the show “Cuba y Puerto Rico en Son” at the Miami Dade County Auditorium, he was awarded the “Osvaldo Farres” award/medal for his artistic career, the most important composer of the decade for his compositions such as ” Maybe, Maybe, Maybe “,” A Whole Life “and” Get Closer “among others.
On April 14, 2013, she was awarded for the second time, for her contribution to the Arts and Music, with the “Facundo Rivero” award, a renowned Cuban musician and composer. On June 22, 2013, he received the Key to the city of Miami from the mayor of Miami.
On December 4, 2013, in the Hall of Illustrious Women of the Capitol of San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was given the Resolution of the Senate of Puerto Rico for her artistic career.
