Con el anuncio de la Aereolinea Southwest que retomará sus vuelos diarios desde Fort Lauderdale a Cuba el 17 de febrero de 2022, se unen a American Airlines y JetBlue que ya lo hacen. La aerolínea será la segunda que vuele entre la ciudad al norte de Miami y La Habana.
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES volverá con sus vuelos diarios de Fort Lauderdale, Estados Unidos, a La Habana, Cuba, a partir del próximo 17 de de febrero de 2022, informó la revista especializada en turismo Excelencias Cuba.
La aerolínea será la segunda que vuele desde esa ciudad al norte de Miami a la capital cubana. Actualmente JetBlue ofrece vuelos diarios entre Fort Lauderdale y La Habana. Asi como American Airlines lo hace desde Miami desde el pasado 2 de Diciembre.
“La aerolínea está centrando su estrategia en reforzar los viajes para el verano próximo, así como en recuperar su servicio a La Habana, Cuba, que se vio interrumpido en marzo de 2020 tras el inicio de la pandemia de Covid-19. La ruta a Cuba complementará el vuelo diario a la Isla desde Tampa, que se reanudó el pasado 5 de diciembre”, reseñó Excelencias Cuba.
Según la página de Southwest, los vuelos a partir del 17 de febrero entre Fort Lauderdale y La Habana cuestan unos 396 dólares ida y vuelta.
La directora financiera de Southwest Airlines, Tammy Romo, dijo esta semana que las proyecciones de la compañía para 2022 pueden cambiar por la nueva variante del Covid-19, Ómicron. “Cualquier número de factores externos puede cambiar e impactar este plan. Pero fuimos cautelosos en nuestras suposiciones sobre la demanda de viajes”, dijo a los inversores, informó la agencia Reuters.
Los vuelos a la Isla volvieron el pasado 15 de noviembre y pese a la variante Ómicron, el régimen insiste en que Cuba es “un destino seguro”. Desde ese día, las compañías chárter y JetBlue vuelan a diario entre Estados Unidos y Cuba.
