LA TRADICIÓN SUPERSTICIOSA DE CUBA ES COLOSAL. CREENCIAS INCULCADAS DE NUESTRO PASADO. PHOTOS

El proceso de formación de la identidad e idiosincrasia cubanas, que resultó derivado de la interacción entre culturas tan variadas como la española, la africana y la china, provocó que la nación se constituyera como símbolo de diversidad. Entre ellas las supersticiones.

De esa forma, el país no solo se nutrió de concepciones europeas y católicas respecto a los mitos, supersticiones y creencias, sino que heredó símbolos y doctrinas arraigadas a otras religiones. Esta mezcla fue extrapolada a otras esferas de lo social, como el arte, y pasó a formar parte del sujeto cubano.

La tradición supersticiosa cubana es colosal.

Para aclarar, superstición es la creencia contraria a la razón y a la ciencia que atribuye una explicación mágica a la generación de los fenómenos, procesos y sus relaciones.

Los cubanos llevamos en nuestras raíces creencias que nos inculcaron nuestros antepasados y que forman parte de nuestra vida. Vamos a describir algunas, sobre todo para darnos cuenta de lo ingenuos que somos, a pesar de que nos consideramos muy inteligentes.

Por ejemplo: Es martes 13, hay un gato negro en mi camino y tengo que tocar madera.

SE ATRAVIESA UN GATO NEGRO

Si se cruzó un gato negro en tu camino es que todas las calamidades te acechan, esto así se valora desde la edad media, cuando se los asoció con las brujas y la magia negra. Sin embargo, en tiempos remotos, que un gato se cruzase en el camino era señal de buena suerte, en el antiguo Egipto eran adorados, considerados sagrados y cuando morían se depilaban las cejas en señal de duelo y la pena por matar a un gato era la muerte. Los galos y los celtas también penaban el hecho de dar muerte a un gato, aunque no tan severamente.

CONTAR LOS SUEÑOS

Si has tenido un sueño inquietante, debes contarlo antes del mediodía para que no se cumpla. Si deseas que se cumpla entonces lo contarás después del mediodía. Si eres, como mi nuera, de la que dicen que “nunca ve a la Virgen”, la que pasa al mediodía, entonces estás en peligro mortal porque te despiertas después de esa hora.

PARAGUAS ABIERTO

Nunca se puede abrir un paraguas dentro de la casa. El hecho de abrir un paraguas en un lugar interior se ha vinculado directamente con una desgracia venidera. Muchas de estas personas supersticiosas aseguran el poder maléfico de este acto, pero la gran mayoría no saben explicar el verdadero origen de esta creencia.

En los tiempos en que se inventó este artículo muchas personas, antes de salir de su casa abrían el paraguas y así accedían a la calle sin tener que mojarse e incluso lo hacían a la inversa, accediendo a la vivienda con él aún abierto. Esto ocasionó muchos accidentes domésticos, sacando más de un ojo y provocando múltiples lesiones, lo que llevó rápidamente a la creencia que dice que el abrir un paraguas en un interior trae mala suerte. Entonces es preferible salir a la calle y mojarte en lo que abres el paraguas y después al regresar mojarte también porque tienes que cerrarlo antes de entrar. En ambos casos puede ser que seas premiado con un resfriado.

PESTAÑA

Cuando se te cae una pestaña, pide rápido un deseo, de esta manera evitarás que el diablo se la quede y la coleccione. Yo lo he hecho muchas veces y nada de lo que he pedido se ha cumplido.

TOCAR UN CHIPOJO

Tocar una lagartija o caguayo, conocido en Cuba como chipojo, te dará fiebre. Yo me hubiera pasado toda mi niñez con fiebre porque me encantaba coger lagartijas y colgarla de las orejas mientras me la mordían.

VASO DE AGUA

En el Caribe la gente precavida pone en su dormitorio un vaso de agua limpia para impedir los malos augurios; igual ocurre en lugares de culturas muy diferentes como las ciudades de Uzbekistán, los países escandinavos y Sicilia. La santería cubana y el espiritismo se quieren atribuir su paternidad y ya ven como está extendida por todo el mundo.

BILLETE DE DOS DOLARES

El billete de 2 dólares de Estados Unidos, es sin dudas el billete menos conocido de éste país.
La casi nula presencia del billete de 2 dólares, ha originado un desconocimiento general de su existencia y ha suscitado incluso toda una serie de mitos urbanos y creencias populares a su alrededor. No es raro escuchar o leer a quienes afirman que tener un billete de 2 dólares atrae a la buena suerte. Yo lo tengo y no me quejo de mi suerte, pero antes tampoco lo tenía y también tenía muy buena suerte.
