La artista más emblemática de Cuba y la de España se unieron en vida y en sus luchas por las duras realidades de esta.
En los 90s ya se sabía de su amistad, solo faltaba la presencia en escenarios de forma conjunta.
Ambas ya eran leyendas en sus patrias y en el extranjero.
El momento de una canción en dúo se ansiaba y se hizo realidad, la escogida sería la mítica “Burundanga” que Celia hiciese famosa desde los 50s con la Sonora Matancera.
El tema fue finalmente interpretado por la reina de la salsa y la faraona tanto en suelo español como en Miami.

La inolvidable letra del tema que llama a la unidad se presentó en vivo en un evento especial emitido por Antena 3 en España y en unos conocidos premios a la música en Miami. Desde allí su interpretación pasó a la historia.
La amistad de Flores, con Celia se dio desde su juventud, cuando la faraona llegó a trabajar en Cuba y luego promocionaba tanto a Celia como a nuestra Olga Guillot en España.
Lola Flores fallece en 1995. Celia Cruz en 2003. Ambas de cáncer.
Ambas nacieron un día 21 (Lola de Enero y Celia de Octubre) y murieron en un día 16 (Lola de Mayo y Celia de Julio).
Lola vivió 72 años y Celia 77.
