El viacrucis del Viernes Santo regresa a La Habana tras dos años pandémicos. Residentes y curiosos observaron el viacrucis apostados a las puertas de sus viviendas, en las aceras o desde lo alto de balcones y azoteas.
El viacrucis del Viernes Santo regresó nuevamente a las calles de La Habana después de dos años de aislamiento para los católicos cubanos debido a la crisis generada por la pandemia de covid-19.
Centenares de personas de todas las edades -en su mayoría adultos- se unieron a la procesión que partió de la parroquia del Cristo del Buen Viaje, un templo del centro histórico de la capital cubana para recorrer el camino de las 14 estaciones que fijan paso a paso el acto religioso, que representa la muerte de Jesús.
A la salida del cortejo, el vicario general y canciller de la Arquidiócesis de La Habana, Ramón Suárez Polcari, instó a los fieles a “permanecer firmes en la fe y en el buen obrar”.
Un grupo de creyentes llevó en andas las imágenes de Jesús de Nazaret -cargando su cruz y coronado de espinas- y de la Virgen María Dolorosa por las estrechas callejuelas de la zona más antigua y popular de La Habana.

La procesión -presidida por el cardenal y Arzobispo de La Habana, Juan de la Caridad García- reunió a sacerdotes, religiosas, diáconos y fieles, acompañada de un coche con un parlante, desde el que se escuchaban cánticos.
Pero también oraciones por Cuba, con votos a favor de la solidaridad, el perdón, la fe, el respeto a los valores, la reconciliación, superar las divisiones, así como por aquellos que deben velar por el bien común y particularmente de los más necesitados.

De igual manera su paso atrajo las miradas de numerosos turistas que paseaban por la zona que más frecuentan cuando visitan La Habana.

“Tengo mucha esperanza de que la vida vuelva a ser como antes, aunque seguimos sufriendo por causa de esa enfermedad. Hay mucha gente que no ha perdido la fe y hoy he venido a pedir a Dios que me ayude”, señaló.
A uno metros de distancia, Adrián Rodríguez, un joven de 27 años que apoyaba la organización del viacrucis, consideró “muy importante” que pudiera realizarse porque da esperanza para “seguir adelante”, luego de haberse deteriorado la situación económica del país que en su opinión “ha repercutido a nivel de las comunidades con el incremento de la fe”, aunque también ha disparado la emigración.

Hundreds of people of all ages -mostly adults- joined the procession that left from the Cristo del Buen Viaje parish church, a temple in the historic center of the Cuban capital to walk the path of the 14 stations that set the way to step the religious act, which represents the death of Jesus.

Ana María Martínez arrived early at the Buen Viaje temple, of which she is practically a neighbor, and assured that she was moved “by a lot of faith because I will always have it.” According to what she told Efe, she has been left without a family: her only sister died from covid and her nephews live in the United States.
“I have great hope that life will return to the way it was before, although we continue to suffer from this disease. There are many people who have not lost faith and today I have come to ask God to help me,” she said.
