Yotuel Omar Manzanares Romero, conocido como Yotuel, es un cantante, actor y actual cantante y coguionista cubano del grupo de rap Orishas, ​​ganador de un premio Grammy Latino en 2003 y ganador de un álbum de platino. Entre otras grabaciones, ‘Emigrante’ ganó el Premio Grammy Latino 2003 al Mejor Álbum de Rap/Hip-Hop. Este mismo álbum también fue nominado para el Premio Grammy 2003 al Mejor Álbum de Rock Latino/Alternativo.

Yotuel nació en La Habana en una familia afrocubana el 6 de octubre de 1976. Su nombre es una combinación de tres pronombres españoles yo, tú y él (yo, tú y él). Sus padres no pudieron ponerse de acuerdo sobre un nombre, por lo que decidieron combinar los 3 pronombres. Ha desarrollado una carrera en las artes escénicas y es un expatriado cubano.

CARRERA ARTÍSTICA

Yotuel comenzó a tocar música rap a temprana edad. Cuando tenía 18 años se juntó con su amigo Hiram Riveri (alias Ruzzo) y Joel Pando y los tres formaron un grupo de rap llamado Amenaza (Menace). Tener éxito como artista de rap en Cuba resultó difícil, por lo que también comenzó a actuar en teatro y televisión y a trabajar como modelo. Durante el año 1996, Liván Núñez, un cantante cubano radicado en Francia, visitó Cuba y le comentó al luchador grupo Amenaza su interés en grabar algunas canciones con ellos. Este primer grupo tuvo muy buena aceptación y mucha difusión radial en Cuba y algunas apariciones en la televisión nacional de Cuba. De todo esto encontraron fama conocen a Petra Morales una representante de una organización francesa sin fines de lucro llamada ADHESIF, le gustó su trabajo por lo que arregló que viajaran a Francia desde Cuba para hacer un programa de intercambio cultural y promocionarlos fuera de Cuba.

Mientras en Francia se hacían muy pocas cosas con respecto al grupo, tenían muy pocos eventos y shows planeados y parecía que no estaban de acuerdo con los mismos requisitos especiales que tenían para ellos, una cosa llevó a la otra y la banda terminó sin hogar. en las calles de París durante aproximadamente un mes, comían en casas de amigos y volvían a dormir en el metro de París.

Ya había una escena de música rap fuerte en París y aprovecharon eso, se juntaron con Livan y el productor Niko Noki les presentó a otro cantante llamado Roldan en un club llamado Cupol y de ese momento nació el grupo Orishas. De inmediato comenzaron a escribir letras y temas musicales para el demo que luego se convertiría en su primer álbum titulado A Lo Cubano.

Desde entonces Yotuel no ha parado de trabajar. Ha trabajado en tres series de televisión ‘La Casa de Los Lios’ y ‘Cuando Yo Sea Grande’ (TV Peruana) y en España Un Paso Adelante. Las películas incluyen los largometrajes Color Habana y Perfecto Amor Equivocado y Chico Nuevo en la Ciudad. También ha protagonizado campañas publicitarias para Ducados y Havana Club. Su trabajo con Orishas continuó con Emigrante (2002), El Kilo (2005), Antidiótico (2007), Cosita Buena (2008) y nuevamente con Gourmet (2018).

Además de cantante, actor y modelo, Yotuel también se ha desempeñado como compositor y productor discográfico. Ha trabajado como productor discográfico en dos temas El Rey de la pachanga y Distinto de los discos Emigrante y El Kilo respectivamente. En 2019, Yotuel lanzó el tema “Insomnio” tras recibir imágenes de las luchas que atravesaban los cubanos en la isla. “Dime si dormir te es fácil, dime si despertar no es la salida”, canta el grupo cubano Orishas en “Insomnio”, tema compuesto por Yotuel.

En febrero de 2021 se lanzó el tema “Patria y Vida” de la mano de Yotuel, Descemer Bueno, Gente de Zona, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, Maykel Osorbo y DJ El Funky. La componían todos ellos y Beatriz Luengo. La canción se convirtió en un éxito y el lema “Patria y Vida” (“Patria y Vida”) se asoció con las protestas cubanas de julio de 2021. Es una inversión del lema de la Revolución Cubana Patria o Muerte (“Patria o Muerte”). La canción y los artistas, incluido Yotuel, fueron criticados en los medios de comunicación cubanos. VIDA PERSONAL
Yotuel Romero tiene un hijo, de nombre Yotuelito (nacido en junio de 2000), fruto de una relación anterior.

En septiembre del 2003, comenzó a salir con la también actriz y cantante española Beatriz Luengo. Ambos se conocieron en el set de ‘Un Paso Adelante’ a principios de ese mismo año. Se casaron en secreto el 16 de noviembre de 2008. Luengo dio a luz a su hijo, Angelo, el 20 de agosto de 2015. En diciembre de 2020, la pareja anunció que Luengo está embarazada de cinco meses de su segundo hijo juntos, una niña. Luengo dio a su niña, de nombre Zoë, el 11 de abril de 2021.

Yotuel Omar Manzanares Romero mononymously known as Yotuel, is a Cuban singer, actor, and current lead singer and co-writer of the 2003 Latin Grammy Award-winning Platinum album-selling rap group Orishas. Among other recordings, ‘Emigrante’ won the 2003 Latin Grammy Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album. This same album was also nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album.

Yotuel was born in Havana into an Afro-Cuban family on October 6, 1976. His name is a combination of three Spanish pronouns yo, tú, and él (I, you, and he). His parents could not agree on a name so they decided to combine all 3 pronouns. He has developed a performing arts career and is a Cuban expatriate.

ARTISTIC CAREER

Yotuel began performing rap music early in life. When he was 18 years old he got together with his friend Hiram Riveri (aka Ruzzo) and Joel Pando and all three started a rap group called Amenaza (Menace). Having any success as a rap artist in Cuba proved difficult so he also started acting in theatre and television and doing some modeling work. During the year 1996 Liván Nuñez, a Cuban singer who lived in France, visited Cuba and told the struggling Amenaza group about his interest in recording some songs with them. In 1997 they won the first prize in the 3rd edition of the underground Cuban Rap Music Awards, later on, that year they would record a demo produced by X Alfonso.

This first group had a very good acceptance and a lot of radio play in Cuba and some national television appearances in Cuba. From all this found fame they meet Petra Morales a representative of a French non-profit organization called ADHESIF, she liked their work so she arranged for them to travel to France from Cuba to do a cultural exchange program and to promote them outside Cuba.

While in France very few things were being done regarding the group, they had very few events and shows planned and it seemed that they did not agree with the same special requirements they had for them, one thing led to another and the band ended up homeless in the streets of Paris for about a month, they would eat at friends homes and back to sleeping in the Paris Métro.

There was already a strong rap music scene in Paris and they took advantage of this, they got together with Livan and the producer Niko Noki introduced them to another singer named Roldan at a club called Cupol and from that moment the group Orishas was born. Yotuel Romero has a son, named Yotuelito (born in June 2000), from a previous relationship.

In September 2003, he started dating fellow Spanish actress and singer Beatriz Luengo. They both first met on the set of ‘Un Paso Adelante’ earlier that same year. They secretly got married on 16 November 2008. Luengo gave birth to their son, named Angelo, on 20 August 2015. In December 2020, the couple announced that Luengo is five months pregnant with their second child together, a baby girl. Luengo gave to their girl, named Zoë, on 11 April 2021.
