La protagonista de ‘Blonde’, donde interpreta a Marylin Monroe, se enfrenta a Cate Blanchett, la favorita, Michelle Yeoh , Michelle Williams y Andrea Riseborough. Ana de Armas se convierte en la primera cubana candidata al Oscar como mejor actriz.
LA ACTRIZ CUBANA Ana de Armas ha sido nominada (por Blonde) en la categoría de mejor actriz para la 95ª edición de los Óscar, anunció este martes la Academia de Hollywood, y se convierte en la primera aspirante al galardón nacida en la Isla.
El resto de finalistas en este apartado son Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans) y Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie).
A juzgar por lo ocurrido en la temporada de premios hasta ahora, la máxima favorita para alzarse con este galardón es Blanchett, triunfadora en los Critics Choce y ganadora del globo de oro a mejor actriz de drama.
La interpretación de Blanchett, que se postula al premio por encarnar a la directora de orquesta Lydia Tár, podría valerle su tercer óscar después haber recibido la estatuilla a mejor actriz de reparto por The Aviator (2005) y como protagonista por Blue Jasmine (2014).
Aunque la sorpresa podría llegar con De Armas, que ha logrado la nominación gracias a su papel en el biopic Blonde, del director australiano Andrew Dominik, donde se pone en la piel de Marylin Monroe.
El filme no ha cosechado buenas críticas e incluso este lunes se conocieron sus ocho nominaciones a los premios Razzie, que distinguen a los peores filmes de cada año.

La cinta fue seleccionada en alguna de las categorías más relevantes, como la de peor película, peor director o peor guion, pero De Armas es la excepción, como se vio con su nominación al Globo de Oro y el Bafta británico.
Ana de Armas nació en La Habana en 1988 y emigró a España, tierra natal de sus abuelos, a los 18 años, cuando se dio cuenta de que no podía desarrollar una carrera de éxito en la Isla.
Tras un enorme éxito en el país europeo como protagonista de la serie de misterio juvenil El Internado, la actriz decidió hacer un cambio radical y marcharse a Estados Unidos, donde ha logrado convertirse poco a poco en una estrella internacional. Allí reside también su hermano, conocido crítico con el régimen cubano, mientras sus padres residen en la Isla.
Los ganadores de la 95ª edición de los Óscar se conocerán el próximo 12 de marzo en una ceremonia celebrada en el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles (California, EE UU).

THE CUBAN ACTRESS Ana de Armas has been nominated (for Blonde) in the category of best actress for the 95th edition of the Oscars, the Hollywood Academy announced on Tuesday, and she becomes the first candidate for the award born on the Island.
