La cantante cubana Gloria Estefan se convirtió en la primera artista latina en entrar al Salón de la Fama de Compositores.
“Muchas gracias a mis increíbles fans que, por escuchar mi música, han hecho posible que yo pueda recibir este gran honor”, escribió la cantante en sus redes sociales.
“Es algo increíblemente especial, es un privilegio muy grande. Jamás soñé poder estar entre tantas personas que han cambiado la música. Para mí la música ha sido mi salvación toda mi vida así que poder estar en este Salón de la Fama es algo realmente especial”, dijo a Despierta América.
Su esposo, el productor musical Emilo Estefan no tardó en celebrar la gran noticia con todos sus seguidores y gritar a los cuatro vientos lo orgulloso que está de Gloria y sus logros.
“Estoy tan orgulloso de ti Baby… Desde la primera canción que escribiste, has podido tocar los corazones de millones y traer amor y unidad a través de tus palabras al mundo!”, expresó.
Gloria ya había sido nominada antes pero no seleccionada, y ahora encabeza la lista de los siete compositores que entraron al Salón de la Fama en 2023.
“Ser la primera en cualquier cosa a esta edad es fantástico”, dijo la cantante de 65 años, quien rememoró todos los obstáculos y los “no” que tanto ella como Emilio recibieron desde el inicio de sus carreras, y cómo siempre apostaron el uno por el otro y se apoyaron mutuamente para llegar a donde están hoy.
Los compositores solo pueden ser nominados para entrar al Salón de la Fama 20 años después de su primer éxito comercial y es el mayor honor para cualquier compositor.
La cantante nacida en La Habana ha vendido más de 100 millones de discos y es considerada una de las artistas femeninas más grandes de todos los tiempos y una de las artistas hispanas que ha logrado con mayor éxito el crossover en Estados Unidos.
Gloria ha escrito montones de canciones a lo largo de su carrera, entre ellas tres números uno internacionales y siete números uno en las listas de éxitos latinos.

Cuban singer Gloria Estefan became the first Latin artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“Thank you so much to my amazing fans who, by listening to my music, have made it possible for me to receive this great honor,” the singer wrote on her social media.
“It is something incredibly special, it is a very great privilege. I never dreamed that I could be among so many people who have changed music. For me, music has been my salvation all my life so to be able to be in this Hall of Fame is something really special “, she told Despierta América.
Her husband, the music producer Emilio Estefan, did not take long to celebrate the great news with all her followers and shout from the four winds how proud he is of Gloria and her achievements.
“I’m so proud of you Baby…Since the first song you wrote, you have been able to touch the hearts of millions and bring love and unity through your words to the world!” she expressed.
Gloria has been nominated before but not selected, and now she tops the list of seven songwriters inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023.
“Being the first in anything at this age is fantastic,” said the 65-year-old singer, who recalled all the obstacles and “no’s” that both she and Emilio received from the beginning of their careers, and how they always bet on one each other and supported each other to get to where they are today.
Songwriters can only be nominated for the Hall of Fame 20 years after their first commercial success and it is the highest honor for any songwriter.
The Havana-born singer has sold over 100 million records and is considered one of the greatest female artists of all time and one of the most successful crossover Hispanic artists in the United States.
Gloria has written dozens of songs throughout her career, including three international number-ones and seven number-ones on the Latin charts.
