El pianista y compositor de origen cubano obtuvo este galardón por el álbum “Fandango At The Wall In New York”. Born June 22, 1960 is a jazz musician, and the son of Cuban jazz musician, arranger and bandleader Chico O’Farrill. He is pianist, composer, and director for the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.
Arturo O’Farrill se llevó a casa el Grammy al Mejor Álbum de Jazz Latino durante la 65 edición de estos premios celebrada este 5 de febrero.
La producción discográfica que se alzó con el galardón fue “Fandango At The Wall In New York” en la que trabajó junto a su banda The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra y The Congra Patria Son Jarocho Collective.

Por tercer año consecutivo el jazzista estaba nominado en esta categoría; en 2022 lo estuvo con su disco Virtual Birdland, aunque también fue incluido en el apartado Mejor Composición Instrumental por el proyecto Dreaming In Lions, junto A The Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble.
En 2021 el pianista y compositor, además de estar nominado al Mejor Álbum de Jazz Latino ganó el premio por su disco Four Questions.
Con este nuevo reconocimiento, O’Farrill suma seis Grammys en su carrera artística, cuatro de ellos justamente en la categoría que reconoce al mejor álbum de jazz.
Arturo O’Farrill nació en México, pero su pasión por la música vienen de su padre el músico cubano de jazz latino, arreglista, director de orquesta, trompetista y compositor, Chico O’Farrill.
En esta 65 edición de los Premios Grammy celebrada en el Crypto.com Arena de Los Ángeles, California, otros cuatro cubanos también figuraban en la lista de nominados: Cimafunk, Arturo Sandoval, Camila Cabello y Paquito D’Rivera.

Arturo O’Farrill took home the Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album during the 65th edition of these awards held on February 5.
The record production that won the award was “Fandango At The Wall In New York” in which he worked with his band The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and The Congra Patria Son Jarocho Collective.
For the third consecutive year, the jazz player was nominated in this category; in 2022 he was with his album Virtual Birdland, although he was also included in the Best Instrumental Composition section for the Dreaming In Lions project, along with A The Afro Latin Jazz Ensemble.
In 2021 the pianist and composer, in addition to being nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album, won the award for his album Four Questions.
With this new recognition, O’Farrill adds six Grammys in his artistic career, four of them precisely in the category that recognizes the best jazz album.
