Dianelys Alfonso Cartaya, mas conocida en el mundo artistico como La Diosa nació un 25 de diciembre en San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, es una cantante y compositora cubana de salsa, reguetón y otros géneros como la balada. Conocida por su música que combina elementos de la música cubana tradicional con géneros como el reggaetón y la cumbia.
La Diosa ha lanzado varios álbumes que han sido muy exitosos en Cuba, Estados Unidos y en otros países de América Latina.
Con su voz poderosa y su estilo único, La Diosa ha logrado una gran popularidad entre el público y ha sido reconocida por la crítica por su talento y habilidades musicales. La Diosa estudio en la escuela de arte Juan Pablo Duarte desde muy chiquita, donde aprendio teatro, danza contemporanea, piano elemental, actuacion y por su puesto donde aprendio a cantar.

A lo largo de su carrera a trabajado como primera figura en espectaculos como El Paricien y Tropicana de Varadero, La cueva del Pirata donde desde ahi logra tener la oportunidad de ser la cantante de NG LA BANDA, viajo mas de 50 paises y compartio escenario con muchisimos musicos.
Desde entonces se dedica a hacer su carrera en solitario despues de llegar a ser conocida como Nelly cambia el rumbo de su carrera comienza a componer sus propias canciones a hacerse sola su propia musica y a entrar una ves mas con el sobrenombre Diosa,

COMIENZAN SUS PROBLEMAS…
Las frecuentes críticas al sistema cubano y la represión que Alfonso desató a través de las redes sociales la convirtieron en blanco de campañas oficiales de desprestigio, amenazas y un boicot para impedir que fuera invitada por otros músicos cubanos a compartir escenario.
En 2019, La Diosa inició el movimiento #MeToo en Cuba tras hacer pública su historia personal con el músico José Luis Cortés, El Tosco, de quien sufrió acoso y violencia machista.
En noviembre de 2020, apoyó la manifestación de artistas independientes y parte de la sociedad civil de Cuba en la sede del Ministerio de Cultura (MINCULT).
Sus problemas con el régimen cubano comenzó cuando la cantante contó en un programa al llegar a Miami, que había sido golpeada y violada por el artista cuando era cantante del grupo NG La Banda. Una semana después, denunció amenazas de El Tosco en reacción a sus palabras. Esto generó una ola de solidaridad y hasta 300 personas firmaron un documento de apoyo a Alfonso.
Periodistas, feministas, abogadas, actrices, universitarias, escritoras, psicólogas, investigadoras y activistas firmaron esa carta, además de hombres como el escritor Antón Arrufat, Premio Nacional de Literatura. “Esas personas que han levantado la frase #YoSíTeCreo Diosa me han ayudado a salir adelante después de ese día”, declaró entonces el artista.
En octubre de 2022, la Diosa fue noticia al ofrecerle empleo a una cubana que había sido expulsada de su trabajo por criticar en Facebook la situación del país.
Yordanka Battle Moré relató las circunstancias de su despido en un video transmitido en la propia red. En la transmisión, pidió ayuda para conseguir un trabajo en el sector privado, ya que al perder su empleo quedó en una situación aún más difícil que la que tenía antes, pues debía ocuparse de su madre mayor. Aclaró que no tenía intenciones ni medios para abandonar el país.
En uno de los más de mil comentarios que recibió la publicación en la página de Facebook del medio independiente Cíbercuba, la Diosa de Cuba, le ofreció trabajo. “En los pocos conciertos que tengo puedo ponerte a trabajar conmigo en mi equipo de producción si ves esto escríbeme muchacha”, escribió entonces la artista.
En junio de 2022, la cantante cubana conversó con DIARIO DE CUBA sobre sus inicios en la música, la gira que realizaba entonces por Europa y momentos difíciles en su carrera. En la entrevista, contó cómo surgió el tema “La papaya de 40 libras”, con el que estaba arrasando en países como Italia, Alemania y Suiza, al punto que tuvo que extender su gira por varias semanas.
“Esta canción nace por una polémica con un cantante cubano que comienza a atacarme en redes sociales. Siempre es bueno recordar que estas polémicas y ataques se usan mucho en el mundo de la música urbana. A mí, siendo mujer, y sintiéndome atacada por un hombre, lo primero que me vino a la mente es decirle esta frase: ‘Es mi papaya de 40 libras de aquí pa’ allá’. Eso fue algo espontáneo. Nunca me imaginé que esa frase se fuera a hacer viral”.
La cantante dijo que después de lanzada la canción “quedó en buenos términos” con el músico cubano quien, más que hacerle daño, la impulsó a sacar “la canción más escuchada de música urbana ahora mismo en Cuba”.
ACLARANDO EL PARALELISMO ENTRE LOS TERMINOS DE SU CANCION….
Más allá del paralelismo entre la fruta y el órgano sexual femenino, La Diosa logró enviar un mensaje de empoderamiento a las mujeres que se sientan atacadas.
“Con esta canción quiero que las mujeres se sientan seguras cuando un hombre las ataca, que sepan darse valor y no se sientan poca cosa. Me enfoqué en que Dios nos dio una papaya de 40 libras a todas y debemos entender que tenemos algo de grandeza que se puede imponer”.
“Los hombres también han hecho suya la canción y eso es espectacular. Ellos se han sentido identificados y se han puesto a bailarla y gozarla. Es música muy cubana. Las raíces fueron pensadas”, contó La Diosa.
La cantante contó su experiencia de más de siete años de censura para trabajar en los escenarios de Cuba. Y declaro entonces..”Yo me siento 100% cubana y estoy aquí no solamente pidiendo por mí que los escuchen, estoy pidiendo también por todos ustedes. Llevo siete años pidiendo una cita a este instituto y yo no he podido verle la cara al señor Alpidio nunca (…) Necesito que me dejen trabajar en mi país, a mí y a todas las personas que están aquí”, afirmó entonces.
El 22 de enero de 2023, bajo las nuevas medidas migratorias de Joe Biden, Alfonso Cartaya y su familia pudieron obtener un parole humanitario que les permitió viajar a los Estados Unidos y asentarse en el sur de la Florida.

La Diosa ha demostrado un gran interés en ayudar a aquellos que se encuentran en situación de vulnerabilidad. Ha participado en numerosas campañas y proyectos de caridad, tanto en Cuba como en otros países, enfocándose en temas como la lucha contra la pobreza, el empoderamiento de la mujer y la defensa de los derechos humanos.

“THE GODDESS” BEGINS HER PROBLEMS…
The frequent criticism of the Cuban system and the repression that Alfonso unleashed through social networks made her the target of official smear campaigns, threats, and a boycott to prevent her from being invited by other Cuban musicians to share the stage.
In 2019, La Diosa started the #MeToo movement in Cuba after making public her personal history with the musician José Luis Cortés, El Tosco, from whom she suffered harassment and sexist violence.
In November 2020, she supported the demonstration of independent artists and part of Cuban civil society at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture (MINCULT).
Her problems with the Cuban regime began when the singer told a program upon arriving in Miami that she had been beaten and raped by the artist when she was a singer for the group NG La Banda. A week later, she reported threats from El Tosco in reaction to her words. This generated a wave of solidarity and up to 300 people signed a document supporting Alfonso.
Journalists, feminists, lawyers, actresses, university students, writers, psychologists, researchers, and activists signed that letter, as well as men like the writer Antón Arrufat, National Literature Award winner. “Those people who have raised the phrase #YoSíTeCreo Goddess have helped me get ahead after that day,” the artist declared then.
In October 2022, the Goddess made headlines by offering a job to a Cuban woman who had been expelled from her job for criticizing the situation in the country on Facebook.
Yordanka Battle Moré recounted the circumstances of her dismissal in a video broadcast on the network itself. In the broadcast, she asked for help to get a job in the private sector, since losing her job left her in an even more difficult situation than the one she had before her since she had to take care of her elderly mother. She clarified that she had no intentions or means to leave the country.
In one of the more than a thousand comments that she received on the publication on the Facebook page of the independent media Cibercuba, the Goddess of Cuba offered her a job. “In the few concerts that I have, I can put you to work with me in my production team. If you see this, write to me, girl,” the artist wrote then.
In June 2022, the Cuban singer spoke with DIARIO DE CUBA about her beginnings in music, the tour she was doing at the time in Europe, and difficult moments in her career. In the interview, she told how the song “40-pound papaya” came about, with which she was sweeping countries like Italy, Germany and Switzerland, to the point that she had to extend her tour for several weeks.
“This song was born from a controversy with a Cuban singer who began to attack me on social networks. It is always good to remember that these controversies and attacks are widely used in the world of urban music. To me, being a woman, and feeling attacked by a man, the first thing that came to my mind is to say this phrase to him: ‘It’s my 40-pound papaya from here to there.’ That was something spontaneous. I never imagined that phrase would go viral.”
The singer said that after the song was released, “she was on good terms” with the Cuban musician who, more than hurting her, encouraged her to release “the most listened to urban music song right now in Cuba.”
CLARIFYING THE PARALLELISM BETWEEN THE TERMS OF HER SONG of her….
Beyond the parallels between the fruit and the female sexual organ, The Goddess managed to send a message of empowerment to women who feel attacked.
“With this song I want women to feel safe when a man attacks them, that they know how to value themselves and not feel small. I focused on the fact that God gave us all a 40-pound papaya and we must understand that we have something of greatness that can be imposed”.
“The men have also made the song their own and that is spectacular. They have felt identified and have begun to dance and enjoy it. It is very Cuban music. The roots were thought out,” said La Diosa.
The singer recounted her experience of more than seven years of censorship to work on the stages of Cuba. And I declare then…”I feel 100% Cuban and I am here not only asking for myself to be heard, I am also asking for all of you. I have been requesting an appointment at this institute for seven years and I have not been able to see the face of the Lord Alpidio never (…) I need to be allowed to work in my country, me and all the people who are here,” he said then.
On January 22, 2023, under Joe Biden’s new immigration measures, Alfonso Cartaya and his family were able to obtain humanitarian parole that allowed them to travel to the United States and settle in South Florida.

The Goddess has shown great interest in helping those who are in a situation of vulnerability.
