El thriller de supervivencia está basado en dos relatos diferentes de una misma historia real, que se desenvuelve en una isla de las Galápagos, según adelantaron medios especializados.
LA ACTRIZ CUBANA Ana de Armas sigue pisando fuerte en Hollywood. Su próximo proyecto, el thriller El origen de las especies, la une a un estelar elenco: Jude Law, Alicia Vikander y Daniel Brühl, bajo la dirección de otro peso pesado de la industria, el oscarizado Ron Howard.
La película comenzará a rodarse a finales de este año en Queensland, Australia, y está basada en dos relatos diferentes de una misma historia real, adaptada por el guionista Noah Pink, según adelantó Deadline.
La revista online la describe como “una historia oscuramente cómica de asesinato y supervivencia, ambientada en torno a un grupo de personajes eclécticos que abandonan la civilización por las Galápagos. Todos están buscando la respuesta a esa pregunta siempre apremiante que nos atormenta a todos: cuál es el sentido de la vida”.

No ha trascendido mucho más sobre la cinta, y tampoco del papel que interpretará la actriz cubana en este nuevo proyecto que, según algunos medios especializados, aún no tiene fecha de estreno, pero podría llegar a los cines a finales de 2024.
Antes la veremos en Ballerina, el spin-off de la saga de películas de John Wick, junto a Keanu Reeves, y que se estrenará el 7 de junio de 2024. La actriz encarnará a Rooney, una bailarina que busca venganza cazando a los asesinos de su familia.
Este año se estrenó Ghosted, la comedia romántica de espionaje que protagonizó junto Chris Evans, con quien ya coincidió antes en Knives Out (2019) y The Gray Man (2022).
El pasado abril, Ana fue la anfitriona del programa estadounidense Saturday Night Live, que tuvo una onda bien latina con la participación también de la reguetonera colombiana Karol G y el comediante cubanoamericano Marcello Hernández.
La actriz cubana, nominada al Oscar y al Globo de Oro por su extraordinaria interpretación de Marilyn Monroe en Blonde, volverá al set de filmación con El origen de las especies, junto a un reparto de lujo en el que sobresalen el actor, productor y director británico aspirante también a un Oscar, Jude Law; la actriz sueca ganadora de una estatuilla de la Academia, Alicia Vikander, y el actor hispano-alemán Daniel Brühl, también candidato en dos ocasiones al Globo de Oro.
Al cineasta y productor Ron Howard, que los dirigirá, lo preceden dos Oscar por la aclamada Una mente maravillosa y una extensa filmografía que incluye otros relevantes largometrajes como Cinderella Man, Apolo 13, Willow, Cocoon y Rush.

THE CUBAN ACTRESS Ana de Armas continues to make a name for herself in Hollywood. Her next project, the thriller Origin of Species, unites her with a stellar cast: Jude Law, Alicia Vikander and Daniel Brühl, under the direction of another industry heavyweight, Oscar-winning Ron Howard.
The film will begin shooting later this year in Queensland, Australia, and is based on two different accounts of the same true story, adapted by screenwriter Noah Pink, according to Deadline.
The online magazine describes it as “a darkly comic story of murder and survival, set around an eclectic group of characters who leave civilization for the Galapagos. Everyone is looking for the answer to that ever-pressing question that torments us all: what is the meaning of life.
Not much more has been revealed about the film, nor about the role that the Cuban actress will play in this new project that, according to some specialized media, does not yet have a release date, but could hit theaters at the end of 2024.
