LA ORQUESTA SENSACIÓN, UNO DE LOS CONJUNTOS MÁS IMPORTANTES EN LA HISTORIA MUSICAL CUBANA. PHOTOS. VIDEOS.
Con más de 50 años de existencia la Orquesta Sensación responde al formato de charanga y, aunque en la actualidad la integran nuevos músicos, graduados de escuelas de arte en Cuba y pertenecientes a una nueva generación de talentos, no ha perdido la sonoridad, el repertorio y la autenticidad de sus fundadores.
SE ORGANIZA LA ORQUESTA
El inicio de esta orquesta se remonta al 23 de agosto de 1953, cuando tres músicos: Miguel Santacruz, Jesús Esquijarrosa y Eloy Martínez, llegan a casa de Rolando Valdés con la idea de organizar una orquesta charanga. Aunque este último pensó que no era el momento, ya que en esa etapa se imponían en la música popular bailable Arcaño, Arsenio y Melodías del 40.
Al cabo de tres meses, viendo su declinar debido al surgimiento del chachachá, creado por Enrique Jorrín y difundido por la Orquesta América, decide fundar y dirigir la Orquesta Sensación con un nuevo concepto: poner a los músicos a tocar parados y situar cantantes en calidad de solistas, distinto a la Aragón, que lo hacía con tres voces al unísono. Con este proyecto se estrena esta orquesta conformada por diez músicos con muchos deseos de triunfar.
Las primeras grabaciones las hacen con Celio González, pero el primer hit lo logran con Cheo Junco, Rolando y Alfonsín Quintana, y la pieza Sevent Boy. El segundo cañonazo fue Arráncame la Vida, con Luis Donald, Gerardo Pedroso y Rolando Valdés.

En 1955, al integrarse el afamado Abelardo Barroso (1905-1972). e interpretar En Guantánamo, aumenta la popularidad de esta agrupación. Después le siguen decenas de grabaciones: El Guajiro de Cunaguá, El Brujo de Guanabacoa, El Panquelero, El Huerfanito, La Hija de Juan Simón, Yo Ta’ Cansá, Bruca Manigua, La Milonga y muchos más.
En 1958 la Sensación asume atrevidamente tres metales en la orquesta charanga, toda una novedad, con Generoso Jiménez (trombón), Enemelio Jiménez (saxo) y el Negro Vivar (trompeta). Sin embargo, la fecha más importante para esta orquesta es 1957, cuando se acreditan como la orquesta más escuchada de la radio. Llegaron a tocar en cuatro bailables diarios, a tener programas fijos en la televisión y a realizar giras internacionales que abarcaron escenarios de Estados Unidos, Venezuela, Canadá y África, además de obtener infinidad de premios, realizar grabaciones y recibir por las mismas varios discos de oro.
HOY EN LA SENSACION
En la actualidad, dirigida por Víctor Rodríguez Herrera Fernández, joven talento que defiende la identidad de la Orquesta, siguiendo bien de cerca las sugerencias de Rolando Valdés, la Sensación continúa cosechando éxitos en cada presentación. Su sonoridad es la misma, pero se renueva con conceptos contemporáneos, sin olvidar los orígenes y cuenta para seguir la tradición, con Israel Núñez Barroso como cantante, que interpreta los temas con el mismo timbre del entrañable Barroso.
Presentaciones en prestigiosos centros nocturnos de La Habana, así como en eventos y festivales nacionales y en varias regiones del mundo, avalan el quehacer actual de la Sensación como una atractiva propuesta que se ha mantenido presente durante más de 50 años con la misma autenticidad de siempre, lo que permite demostrar que la buena música nunca envejece.

With more than 50 years of existence, the Orquesta Sensación responds to the charanga format and, although it is currently made up of new musicians, graduates of art schools in Cuba and belonging to a new generation of talents, it has not lost its sound, its repertoire and the authenticity of its founders.
THE ORCHESTRA IS ORGANIZED
The beginning of this orchestra dates back to August 23, 1953, when three musicians: Miguel Santacruz, Jesús Esquijarrosa and Eloy Martínez, arrived at Rolando Valdés’ house with the idea of organizing a charanga orchestra. TODAY IN THE SENSATION
Currently, directed by Víctor Rodríguez Herrera Fernández, a young talent who defends the identity of the Orchestra, closely following the suggestions of Rolando Valdés, the Sensation continues to reap success in each presentation. Its sound is the same, but it is renewed with contemporary concepts, without forgetting the origins and counts to continue the tradition, with Israel Núñez Barroso as singer, who interprets the songs with the same timbre as the endearing Barroso.
