Ballerina es una próxima película de acción y thriller protagonizada por Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane y Keanu Reeves y dirigida por Len Wiseman basada en una historia escrita por Shay Hatten.
La trama sigue a Rooney (interpretada por Armas), una bailarina y asesina, quien busca venganza contra aquellos que mataron a su familia.

Ana Celia de Armas Caso, más conocida como Ana de Armas, es una actriz cubano-estadounidense-española comenzó su carrera con 16 años en su país y pronto obtuvo un papel principal en el drama romántico hispano-cubano Una rosa de Francia (2006). A la edad de 18 años, se mudó a Madrid y protagonizó series como la popular serie de suspense El internado (2007-2010) y el drama histórico Hispania, la leyenda (2010-2012).
Después de mudarse a Los Ángeles, De Armas tuvo papeles de habla inglesa en el thriller psicológico Knock Knock (2015), la comedia criminal War Dogs (2016), y tuvo un papel secundario en la película biográfica Manos de piedra (2016). Saltó a la fama con su papel de Joi, una proyección holográfica de IA en la película de ciencia ficción Blade Runner 2049 (2017). Por su interpretación de la enfermera Marta Cabrera en la película de misterio Knives Out (2019), fue nominada al Globo de Oro a la mejor actriz de comedia o musical.
DESARROLLO DE LA PELÍCULA “BALLERINA” (2024)
En julio de 2017, Lionsgate Films adquirió los derechos del thriller de acción “Ballerina”, escrito por Shay Hatten. La producción estuvo a cargo de Thunder Road Films, mientras que Hatten trabajó en la reescritura del guión para que pudiera formar parte de la saga de John Wick. El personaje principal, Rooney, tuvo una breve aparición en la tercera entrega de la franquicia, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, interpretado por Unity Phelan.
En octubre de 2019, se contrató a Len Wiseman como director de la película. Ana Celia de Armas Caso, better known as Ana de Armas, is a Cuban-American-Spanish actress. She began her career at the age of 16 in her country and soon landed a lead role in the Spanish-Cuban romantic drama Una rosa. from France (2006). At the age of 18, she moved to Madrid and starred in series such as the popular thriller El internado (2007-2010) and the historical drama Hispania, la leyenda (2010-2012).

DEVELOPMENT OF THE FILM “BALLERINA” (2024)
In July 2017, Lionsgate Films acquired the rights to the action thriller “Ballerina,” written by Shay Hatten. Production was handled by Thunder Road Films, while Hatten worked on rewriting the script so it could be part of the John Wick saga. In March 2023, producer Erica Lee stated that the studio has tentative plans to develop a sequel starring Ana de Armas.
