Andrés Arturo García Menéndez, actor cubano nacido el 12 de abril de 1956, conocido profesionalmente como Andy García, es un actor, director y productor estadounidense.
Saltó a la fama por primera vez actuando en Los intocables (1987) de Brian De Palma junto a Kevin Costner, Sean Connery y Robert De Niro. Continuó actuando en películas como Stand and Deliver (1988) y Asuntos internos (1990). Luego coprotagonizó El padrino III (1990) de Francis Ford Coppola como Vincent Mancini, por la que fue nominado al Oscar al Mejor actor de reparto.
Ahora está filmando “Bajo las estrellas”, de Arclight Films que lanzó las ventas internacionales durante el Festival de Cine de Cannes y las ventas nacionales están a cargo de Capstone Global. Pia Patatian está produciendo.

García conoció a su actual esposa, Marivi Lorido, cuando ambos eran estudiantes en la Universidad Internacional de Florida a mediados de los años 70, cuando se vieron por primera vez en un club nocturno de Miami. Andrés Arturo García Menéndez a Cuban actor born on April 12, 1956, known professionally as Andy García, is an American actor, director and producer.
He first rose to prominence acting in Brian De Palma’s The Untouchables (1987) alongside Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, and Robert De Niro. He continued to act in films such as Stand and Deliver (1988), and Internal Affairs (1990). He then costarred in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Part III (1990) as Vincent Mancini, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Now he is filming “Under the Stars”, Arclight Films launched international sales during the Cannes Film Festival with domestic sales being handled by Capstone Global. Pia Patatian is producing.
Production is currently underway in Puglia, Italy and will continue in London.

Toni Collette and Andy Garcia look to be having the time of their lives while enjoying a sunshine-filled picnic in the first look at Under the Stars, a new romantic comedy from filmmaker Michelle Danner and writer Victoria Vinuesa.
The story centers on a struggling romance novelist who is stuck in a passionless relationship. When he goes to Italy looking for inspiration, he unexpectedly finds the girl of his dreams.
The pair star opposite Alex Pettyfer, Eva De Dominici, Rob Estes and Jessica Michel Serfaty in the film which is currently in production in Puglia, Italy. After wrapping in Puglia, the team moves on to London.
Danner’s previous credits include Hello Herman, The Bandit Hound, Bad Impulse, The Runner and Miranda’s Victim. Collette next stars in Bong Joon Ho’s anticipated Mickey 17, while Garcia has a busy slate of more than seven projects on the horizon. He recently starred in Netflix’s Pain Hustlers.
Michelle Danner (Miranda’s Victim) is directing from a script by Victoria Vinuesa (See You In Venus). Producer is Pia Patatian (See You in Venus) and executive producers are Capstone Studios’ Christian Mercuri and Roman Viaris, Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, Jessica Michel Serfaty, Davide Meretti, Arclight Films’ Gary Hamilton and Ying Ye, and Brandos Film’s Gian G. Foschini. Capstone Studios is financing.
Oscar nominee Collette has Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17 and Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2 upcoming. Garcia’s recent credits include Pain Hustlers and Miranda’s Victim.
Magic Mike actor Pettyfer most recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. De Dominici is best known for her three seasons in Fox series The Cleaning Lady and for recent SXSW feature The Uninvited.
Arclight Films’ current slate also includes Paul Schrader’s Cannes competition title Oh, Canada starring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Michael Imperioli and Jacob Elordi.

Garcia met his now wife, Marivi Lorido, when they were both students at Florida International University during the mid-70’s when they first saw each other in a Miami nightclub. The couple dated for seven years before tying the knot on September 24, 1982. The family divides their time between Toluca Lake, Los Angeles and Key Biscayne, Florida.
The couple shares four children: Dominik García-Lorido, Daniella, Alessandra, and Andrés. Dominik was born on August 16, 1983, in Miami, Florida. She is married to Michael Doneger. Daniella was born on January 3, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. She is married to actor, Stephen Borrello and the couple has a daughter named Violette Rose. Alessandra was born on June 20, 1991, in Los Angeles. The fourth child and only son, Andres, was born on January 28, 2002. Andres has gone on to become an established DJ across Los Angeles and Miami.
García has often expressed his distaste for the communist regime that has ruled Cuba since the revolution. Following Fidel Castro’s death in November 2016, García criticized his legacy, stating: “It is necessary for me to express the deep sorrow that I feel for all the Cuban people…that have suffered the atrocities and repression caused by Fidel Castro and his totalitarian regime.”
García is Catholic, and a naturalized citizen of the United States.
