En septiembre de 1994 se unió al proyecto musical Bamboleo, donde se destaca por su alto nivel de improvisación y fuerza vocal.
En el año 2001 después de regresar de una gira por Europa, Haila, decidió emprender una nueva etapa dentro de su carrera artística, debutando como solista.

Haila María Mompié explicó que el álbum resultante de esta colaboración es un homenaje a la leyenda de la música romántica mexicana y tiene canciones de su extenso repertorio con arreglos musicales al género salsa.
