Una agencia aérea, un centro de buceo y tres hoteles en Cuba fueron añadidos este miércoles a la lista de las más de 200 empresas cubanas que tienen prohibido establecer relaciones financieras con compañías y ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos.

Según un reporte del Registro Federal estadounidense citado por Martí Noticias, se trata de la empresa Aerogaviota, los hoteles Santa Isabel, El Caney Varadero y Meliá Marina Varadero Apartamentos, así como el centro de buceo Marina Gaviota.

Aerogaviota, perteneciente a la corporación militar Gaviota, del conglomerado empresarial de los militares cubanos, GAESA, es una agencia de viajes con una aerolínea de vuelos nacionales e internacionales para transportación de pasajeros en el área de Centroamérica y el Caribe.

Por su parte, el hotel Santa Isabel, de La Habana Vieja está administrado por la también militar Habaguanex, mientras que El Caney Varadero y Meliá Marina Varadero Apartamentos, se encuentran bajo la gestión del grupo turístico Gaviota.

La adición de más compañías cubanas al listado de entidades y subentidades vetadas por la administración de Donald Trump forma parte de una política que buscar fortalecer el embargo económico a la Isla por su apoyo a Venezuela.

Washington busca además eliminar cualquier operación financiera que beneficie de manera desproporcionada al aparato militar y la élite gobernante en Cuba. Ahora, el número de entidades incorporadas a la lista asciende a 218.

Entre las corporaciones vetadas figuran las Fuerzas Armadas (FAR) el Ministerio del Interior (MININT), la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria (PNR) y compañías, sociedad anónimas, grupos empresariales vinculados con esos organismos militares.

La Zona Especial de Desarrollo Mariel y las Terminales de Contenedores de Mariel y La Habana también están bloqueadas para negociar con entidades y ciudadanos estadounidenses.

“Esta acción de Estados Unidos debe ser una señal para que todos los que trabajan con los servicios militares y de inteligencia cubanos no sean tolerados”, dijo al anunciar las medidas el asesor de seguridad nacional, John Bolton.

“This action by the United States should be a signal for all those who work with the Cuban military and intelligence services not to be tolerated,” national security adviser John Bolton said when announcing the measures.
