William Gutiérrez Levy nació el 29 de agosto de 1980 en Cojimar, La Habana, Cuba y es un actor cubanoamericano y ex modelo.

Su abuelo materno era judío (el origen de su apellido, Levy), aunque creció en un hogar no religioso. Criado por su madre soltera, Barbara, Levy, y su familia, incluido su hermano Jonathan Gutiérrez Levy y su hermana Barbara Gutiérrez Levy, emigró a Miami, Florida cuando tenía 20 años. Asistió a la escuela secundaria Barbara Goleman, ubicada en el suburbio de Miami. Fue invitado por la productora de televisión Carla Estrada para protagonizar Pasión, su gran avance en las telenovelas mexicanas. Televisa lo eligió como el protagonista de Cuidado con el Ángel con la actriz y ex cantante de RBD Maite Perroni. El programa se transmitió por primera vez en México en junio de 2008 y comenzó a emitirse en los Estados Unidos en septiembre de 2008 en Univision. Promedió 5 millones de espectadores por noche.

Levy protagonizó junto a Jacqueline Bracamontes en Sortilegio en 2009 Sortilegio se emitió en Univision, y el final atrajo a 6.6 millones de espectadores, superando a ABC y CBS para los espectadores en ese espacio de tiempo. En noviembre de 2009, el actor prestó su voz a la versión en español de la película animada Planet 51. La película se estrenó el 27 de noviembre en México y ganó un premio a la mejor película animada en español de 2009 (Premios Goya). Desde noviembre de 2009 hasta febrero de 2010, Levy recorrió varias ciudades mexicanas con la obra Un Amante a la Medida, que realizó una gira en Estados Unidos en junio de 2010.

Levy participó en la telenovela mexicana ‘Triunfo del Amor’, una nueva versión del clásico venezolano ‘Cristal’, nuevamente con Maite Perroni. La telenovela se emitió el 25 de octubre de 2010 en El Canal de las Estrellas. Pedro Torres, el productor ejecutivo de ‘Mujeres Asesinas’, confirmó el papel de Levy en la tercera temporada de la popular serie mexicana. Levy interpretó el interés amoroso de Jennifer Lopez en el video musical “I’m Into You”, de su álbum Love ?. Se emitió en NBC Today el 2 de mayo de 2011. Levy apareció en la portada de People en Español por su número especial sobre los hombres más sexys del año para 2011.

En enero de 2012, se anunció que Levy aparecería en dos episodios de la serie de televisión VH1 Single Ladies, con Denise Vasi. Participó en la decimocuarta temporada de Dancing with the Stars, con la dos veces campeona de la bola de espejos Cheryl Burke como su compañera profesional de baile; terminaron en tercer lugar. En diciembre de 2012, Levy fue elegida como el Capitán Damian Fabre para la nueva versión de ‘La Tormenta’ titulada La Tempestad, que se emitió en 2013. Levy protagonizará Addicted un drama erótico basado en la novela del mismo nombre de Zane. Variety nombró a Levy uno de los 10 mejores actores y actrices latinos en Hollywood.

VIDA PERSONAL.
Levy ha estado en una relación intermitente con la actriz mexicano-estadounidense Elizabeth Gutiérrez desde 2003, y tienen dos hijos juntos, un hijo, Christopher Alexander, en 2006, y una hija, Kailey Alexandra, el 6 de marzo de 2010.

ACTIVISMO.
William Levy es un filántropo y dona su tiempo para arreglar casas para familias de bajos ingresos en México como parte de la Fundación Televisa “Alianzas que Construyen”.
Se anunció que Levy sería un concursante en Dancing With The Stars de ABC en asociación con la dos veces campeona Cheryl Burke para la temporada 14.

William Gutiérrez Levy was born August 29, 1980, in Cojimar, La Havana, Cuba and he is a Cuban-American actor, dancer, director, and former model.

His maternal grandfather was Jewish (the origin of his surname, Levy), although he grew up in a non-religious household. Raised by his single mother, Barbara, Levy, and his family, including his brother Jonathan Gutierrez Levy and sister Barbara Gutierrez Levy, immigrated to Miami, Florida when he was 20. He attended Barbara Goleman Senior high school, located in the suburb of Miami Lakes. After attending high school, he studied business administration on a baseball scholarship at St. Thomas University for two years. He later went to Los Angeles to study acting and continued his acting studies in Miami and Mexico City.

Levy worked as a model for the Next Models agency and was featured in two reality shows broadcast by Telemundo: Isla de la Tentación and Protagonistas de Novela 2. In 2005 he performed at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, Puerto Rico, starring in the play La Nena Tiene Tumbao.

His debut on the Spanish-language channel Univision was in the Venevision International production of Olvidarte Jamás. He later appeared in Mi Vida Eres Tu and Acorralada. Levy starred alongside Jacqueline Bracamontes on Sortilegio in 2009 Sortilegio aired on Univision, and the finale drew 6.6 million viewers, beating ABC and CBS for viewers in that time slot. In November 2009, the actor lent his voice to the Spanish version of the animated movie Planet 51. The movie opened on November 27 in Mexico and won an award for the best animated Spanish-language film of 2009 (Premios Goya). From November 2009 to February 2010, Levy toured several Mexican cities with the play Un Amante a la Medida, which toured in the United States in June 2010.

Levy participated in the Mexican telenovela ‘Triunfo del Amor’, a remake of the Venezuelan classic ‘Cristal’, again with Maite Perroni. The telenovela aired on October 25, 2010, in El Canal de las Estrellas. Pedro Torres, the executive producer of ‘Mujeres Asesinas’, confirmed Levy’s role in the third season of the popular Mexican series. Levy starred as Jennifer Lopez’s love interest in the music video “I’m Into You”, from her album Love?. It aired on NBC’s Today on May 2, 2011. Levy appeared on the cover of People en Español for its special issue on the sexiest men of the year for 2011.

In January 2012, it was announced that Levy would appear in two episodes of the VH1 television series Single Ladies, with Denise Vasi. He was a participant in the 14th season of Dancing with the Stars, with two-time mirror ball champion Cheryl Burke as his dance-pro partner; they finished in third place. In December 2012 Levy was cast as Captain Damian Fabre for the remake of ‘La Tormenta’ titled La Tempestad which aired in 2013. Levy is set to star in Addicted an erotic drama based on the novel of the same name by Zane. Variety named Levy one of the Top 10 Latino Actors and Actresses in Hollywood.

PERSONAL LIFE.
Levy has been in an on-off relationship with Mexican-American actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez since 2003, and they have two children together, a son, Christopher Alexander, in 2006, and a daughter, Kailey Alexandra, on March 6, 2010.

ACTIVISM.
William Levy is a philanthropist and donates his time to fix houses for low-income families in Mexico as part of the “Alianzas que Construyen” Televisa Foundation.
Levy was announced to be a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars partnering with two-time champion Cheryl Burke for season 14.
