Contó que cuando era apenas una niña, la música le ayudó a atravesar momentos difíciles en los que tuvo que cuidar a su padre -tenía esclerosis múltiple-. “Llegaba de la escuela y me encerraba a aprender canciones con la guitarra y llorar para que mi madre no me viera mal y poder soltar toda esa emoción. Quería lucir fuerte”, detalló.

Por ello, para la artista, que es una de las cantantes más reconocidas a nivel mundial, es un “privilegio” poder ofrecer su arte a sus seguidores, con quienes está muy agradecida, especialmente desde el accidente que sufrió hace 30 años en el que casi pierde la vida, momento en el que, aseguró, sintió las oraciones “de manera física” provenientes de todo el mundo.

Y es ahora, cuando el mundo pasa por una compleja situación, que llega nueva música de Estefan, característica por cantar a la alegría y al amor. “Este ( Cuando hay amor) es uno de los cuatro temas inéditos del disco. Mayormente van a ser éxitos que ya conocen pero totalmente en ritmo brasilero. (…) Es como, si yo hubiese nacido en Brasil ¿cómo sería mi música?”, explicó la cantante afincada en Estados Unidos.

El disco lleva cocinándose cuatro años y fue grabado casi completamente en Brasil, con productores y arreglistas brasileños. Cuando a Estefan le llegó la propuesta, no dudó en embarcarse en el proyecto, ya que toda su vida fue admiradora de muchos músicos brasileños y ya en otras ocasiones ha homenajeado esta cultura que, aseguró, guarda una gran relación con la cultura cubana.

“Soy música y amante de la música, mi madre tenia gusto muy ecléctico me crió escuchando música no solamente de Estados Unidos, sino también de clásicos de Cuba y también de Brasil. Desde niña yo tenia ese amor por la música brasilera, es compleja e increíblemente sensual”, contó.
