1,000 DOCTORES MEXICANOS WILL STUDY A SPECIALITY IN CUBA. PHOTOS.
For the first time, 1,000 medical graduates who passed the National Medical Residency Exam (ENARM) will study a specialty in Cuba, through a grant from the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) of up to 564 thousand pesos per year, starting next March 1.
“In its first stage, the training program for medical specialties abroad includes Cuba, where up to a thousand young people will be able to study any of the specialties they requested and will be revalidated in Mexico,” reported the Ministry of Health.
According to the Conacyt Scholarships for medical specialties abroad, this support consists of the delivery of maintenance, insurance of medical expenses, and the payment of tuition in Cuban health institutions.

Geriatrics: 4 years
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: 4 years

By category, the scholarship consists of monthly financial support of around 22 thousand pesos (one thousand 100 dollars), that is, approximately 264 thousand pesos a year for living expenses of the fellow, plus annual medical insurance of 10 thousand pesos ( 500 dollars).
The annual tuition depends on the specialty, for:
Pathological anatomy, Hygiene, and epidemiology, Intensive Medicine and Emergency, the payment is about 180 thousand pesos (9 thousand dollars).
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Psychiatry the payment is around 220 thousand pesos (11 thousand dollars).
Intensive Medicine and emergencies payment are around 290 thousand pesos (14 thousand 500 dollars).
The Ministry of Health stressed that, due to the difficulties imposed by the health emergency to carry out procedures by some students who decide to go to Cuba, the formalization processes will be extended until February 12, but to give greater certainty they are informed who are registered as scholarship holders at the time of completing the procedures and signing their intention.

Por primera vez, 1000 egresados de Medicina que aprobaron el Examen Nacional de Residencias Médicas (ENARM) estudiarán una especialidad en Cuba, por medio de una beca del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (Conacyt) de hasta 564 mil pesos por año, a partir del próximo 1 de marzo.
“En su primera etapa, el programa de formación de especialidades médicas en el extranjero incluye a Cuba, donde hasta mil jóvenes podrán estudiar alguna de las especialidades que solicitaron y serán revalidadas en México”, informó la Secretaría de Salud.
De acuerdo con la convocatoria de las Becas Conacyt para especialidades médicas en el extranjero, este apoyo consiste en la entrega de manutención, seguro de gastos médicos y el pago de la matrícula en las instituciones de salud cubanas.

Por rubros, la beca, consiste en apoyo económico mensual de alrededor de 22 mil pesos (mil 100 dólares), esto es, aproximadamente, 264 mil pesos al año para gastos de manutención del becario, más un seguro médico anual de 10 mil pesos (500 dólares).
La colegiatura anual depende de la especialidad, para:
Anatomía patológica, Higiene y epidemiología, Medicina intensiva y Emergencia el pago es de cerca de 180 mil pesos (9 mil dólares).
Medicina Física y Rehabilitación y Psiquiatría el pago es alrededor de 220 mil pesos (11 mil dólares).
Medicina Intensiva y emergencias el pago ronda los 290 mil pesos (14 mil 500 dólares).
La Secretaría de Salud mexicana destacó que, debido a las dificultades impuestas por la emergencia sanitaria para realizar trámites por parte de algunos estudiantes que deciden ir a Cuba, los procesos de formalización se ampliarán hasta el 12 de febrero, pero para dar mayor certidumbre se les informa que quedan registrados como becarios al momento de hacer los trámites y firmar su intención.
