It is no secret to anyone that Cuba is an island blessed with a wonderful climate and anthology landscapes. It has beaches, it has mountains and it has the most beautiful expressions of nature, in waters, flora, and fauna. Here, we decided to give you a review of the four natural beauties of Cuba that you cannot miss. Get to know them!
VEGAS GRANDES SALTO
A natural wonder that you can find on our island is the Salto de Vegas Grandes. A beautiful waterfall that is located in the middle of the beautiful ecosystem of the Gran Parque Topes de Collantes, made up of mountains, rivers, and lush trees. The Vegas Grandes River, from which the waterfall flows, is northwest of Pico Potrerillo. It can be accessed by two trails: a north one that passes first through the Salto del Caburní and south that leads directly to the waterfall.
MORLOTE PIT
The Hoyo de Morlotte constitutes a jewel from the natural point of view, due to its formation, compared to the rest of the karstic accidents in Cuba, it is the only one without water.
That is a great chasm that is about 55 meters in diameter at the mouth and 78 meters deep. Ideal for climbing. When touring it, you can visit the small forest that surrounds it and a lake where you can see various marine species such as shrimp, crabs, and fish. A dream for lovers of ecotourism.
The site has been declared and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since December 1, 1999.
THE VALLEY OF VINALES
Located in the heart of Cuba, specifically in the province of Pinar del Río, the Viñales Valley is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and impressive landscapes of the Cuban geography. Just by talking about the impressive mogotes (typical Caribbean elevations) being the main focus of the view of the Viñales Valley, one can understand why it is recognized as a Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
CORAL NOTRE DAME
Located in the underwater waters of Cienfuegos, you can locate an impressive coral formation -the largest in the Caribbean area- that is called Coral Notre Dame. The column of this coral formation is approximately 5.2 meters high and its imposing structure is reminiscent of the French cathedral from which it takes its name. Without a doubt, this is a very special place for lovers of diving and ecotourism. Corals are another of Cuba’s natural beauties.

SALTO DE VEGAS GRANDES
Una maravilla natural que puedes encontrar en nuestra isla es el Salto de Vegas Grandes. Un hermoso salto de agua que se encuentra en el medio del hermoso ecosistema del Gran Parque Topes de Collantes, conformado por montañas, ríos y frondosos árboles. El río Vegas Grandes, desde el cual fluye el salto, queda al noroeste de Pico Potrerillo. Se puede acceder por dos senderos: uno norte que pasa primeramente por el Salto del Caburní y uno sur que lleva directamente al salto.
HOYO DE MORLOTE
El Hoyo de Morlotte constituye una joya desde el punto de vista natural, por su formación, comparada con el resto de los accidentes cársicos de Cuba, es el único que se encuentra sin agua.
Esa es una gran sima que tiene unos 55 metros de diámetro en la boca y 78 de profundidad. Ideal para la práctica de la escalada. Al recorrerlo, se puede visitar el pequeño bosque que le rodea y un lago donde se pueden ver diversas especies marinas como camarones, cangrejos y peces. Un sueño para los amantes del ecoturismo.
El sitio está declarado e inscrito en la lista de Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la Unesco, desde el 1 de diciembre de 1999.
EL VALLE DE VINALES
Ubicado en el corazón de Cuba, específicamente en la provincia de Pinar del Río, el Valle de Viñales es, sin duda, uno de los paisajes más hermosos e impresionantes de la geografía cubana. Sólo con hablar de que los impresionantes mogotes (unas elevaciones típicas del Caribe) son el foco principal de la vista del Valle de Viñales, se puede entender el porqué de su reconocimiento como Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad por parte de la UNESCO.
CORAL NOTRE DAME
Ubicada en las aguas submarinas de Cienfuegos, puedes ubicar una impresionante formación coralina -la mayor del área Caribe- que lleva por nombre Coral Notre Dame. La columna de esta formación de corales tiene unos 5,2 metros de altura aproximadamente y su imponente estructura recuerda a la catedral francesa de la cual toma su nombre. Sin duda, este es un lugar muy especial para los amantes del buceo y el ecoturismo. Los corales son otra de las bellezas naturales de Cuba.
